The Domaine de La Vougeraie is a selection of estates acquired over time and blended with the family's own vines. Its history goes back to 1964 with Les Evocelles, the first plot to be acquired by our father at the start of his career in his home village of Gevrey-Chambertin.
Twenty years later, the vines of Vougeot and our first plot on the Côte de Beaune were added. 1996 brought more land around Beaune, before the loop was closed and we returned to Vougeot with the addition of Le Clos Blanc, the famous monopole with its glinting gold wines. And that is how the Domaine de la Vougeraie came into being; naturally, like a return to the source.

Pere Ventura, a family-owned producer of Cava from nearby Penedès, is the proprietor of Merum Priorati. There are 60 acres of estate vines, mostly the traditional varieties of Garnacha and Cariñena, all grown around the town of Porrera, one of the best locations in Priorat. Enologist Roger Oferil adds some Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah to the blend. The wines, aged in French oak barrels, have a modern polish, but notes of mineral and mountain herb frame the lively fruit and anchor the wine in its terroir.

Since the 17th century, my family has been rooted in Vissoux; my paternal grandmother was named Eugénie Vissoux. My parents, Martine and Pierre-Marie Chermette have expanded the estate to five appellations from the north to the south of the Beaujolais. The love of vines and wine is therefore a family passion."
The vines take their roots on clay-limestone soil, very well suited to Pinot Noir, at Légny in the Pierres Dorées. The grapes are mostly vinified in whole bunch. This gives a fruity, crunchy wine with richness and structure.

Domaine Génot-Boulanger began in 1974 when Parisian pharmacists Charles-Henri Génot and his wife Marie Boulanger moved to Burgundy, and began to buy up vineyards. François Delaby inherited the 22-ha (54-acre) domaine in 1998; his daughter Aude and her husband Guillaume Lavollée took over in 2008. Jasper Morris, in Inside Burgundy (2nd edition), writes that, 'Guillaume Lavollée met Aude in 2006; the year after he arrived to do the harvest – only to find that the vineyard manager had quit the day before picking was due to start, and that he would also have to make the wine.
