The very unusual character of Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout stems from the fact that Kiuchi Brewery is using the recipe of a Russian Imperial Stout as base. Pitch black colour, big brown head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted bitterness, dark fruits. Roasted black and chocolate malts provide an explosion of coffee like flavours. The strong espresso character comes from the addition of espresso beans.

Aged for an average of 15 months, we blended one Willet and two Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels with a whiskey barrel from friends and locals Burwood Distillery. Be reborn in velvety layers of cocoa, medjool dates, and rich, warming liqueur. Sip it slowly, but nab your stash quickly! We reckon we saved the best for last.

The use of unusual ingredients such as spices, candy sugar , water from the Cedrogne spring (one of Belgium's highest) make for superb drinking experiences. Strong, spicy, lightly hoppy, with evolving taste. Bottle refermented, unfiltered, not pasteurized and without any additives.
