Marcel lapierre took over his father's vineyard in 1973, and started to challenge the norm. His mentor, Jules Chauvet was one of (if not) the first person to speak out about natural wine; a style of wine that is honest and true to what nature intended. With Lapierre joining Chauvet, his winery is one of the biggest names known to the natural wine world. Unfortunatley Marcel passed in 2010, but his son Mathieu and daughter Camille carry on his legacy, producing natural and delicious Beaujolais. This Morgon is one of their flagship wines. This is the perfect 'training-wheels' wine if you're just getting into skin-contact white wines.
Orenji is a cheeky little number. A blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, hand-harvested from an organic vineyard in Margaret River. Jo let the fruit hang out on skins for six weeks before pressing it and putting it to bed in barrel.
She wants this to be a friendly style of orange wine, not a big, scary, chewy number.
It's something you can knock back without thinking too much about. And if you're keen to get your head around skinsy whites, it's a terrific place to start.

Meinklang Prosa Sparkling

This sparkling rosé is made from a combination of Pinot Noir, Zweigelt, and Blaufränkisch. The grapes are direct pressed into stainless steel to ferment. The charmant method is used to trap CO2 and render the wine bubbly. It is loosely filtered and stabilized with 70ppm of Sulphur before bottling. The final wine has 14g/l of residual sugar. The Val d’Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2004, encircles the Podere Forte. The estate was founded in 1997 by Pasquale Forte, a visionary entrepreneur who has created a balanced system where every element complements the others, following the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture. The old concept of the corte romana has been recreated on the 500-ha estate: a place where people, plants and animals coexist in harmony and sustainable self-sufficiency. Wine is the main focus, but Podere Forte is also synonymous with the breeding of Cinta Senese pigs, Chianina cattle and Suffolk sheep, as well as various other farm animals, all living on biodynamic feed. Podere Forte produces its own fertilizers and compost using vine prunings and fallen timber from the woods. The pigs eat acorns and chestnuts in the woods where they roam freely, the bees pollinate the flowers and aromatic herbs in the botanic garden where the hives are. The olive groves cover around 26 hectares and in 2020 production of the first varietal oil, from the Frantoio variety, started.
