This is the first ever Boutique-y bottling of Lochindaal, which is a rarely seen expression of Bruichladdich, slightly more heavily peated than Port Charlotte. It is named for another closed Islay distillery. Bottled at 50.1%. Limit 1 Per Customer!
Producer Description: "Our first batch with the Lochindaal label is a 9 Year Old, a release of just 308 bottles at 50.1% abv. Lochindaal is a rarely seen whisky produced by The Bruichladdich Distillery, which is slightly more peated than its Port Charlotte expressions, though not as heavily peated as its Octomore. There was once a distillery called Lochindaal on Islay."

"There's loads of cheese on this label, being cared for like newborns. Could this have something to do with a contentious cheese once produced on Islay...? The old Lochindaal distillery buildings became the islands creamery and a distinctive mild cheese was made here. Islay cheese first hit the headlines when it was banned for a time in Italy because of its supposed aphrodisiac qualities."

Why? Because Tobermory is unpeated - there’s no peat/Pete allowed. You can also see our Ledaig label character heading to Islay."

Could this juice be from Cooley? The signs look good... and boy do we love the juice from Cooley! A 14 year Irish Single Malt bottled at 47.6%.
Producer Description: "Our fourth batch from this undisclosed Irish distillery is a 14 Year Old, a release of just 2,116 bottles at 47.6% abv. If you know your Irish Whiskey history, then you should be able to close down on the distilleries this could come from. It’s a single malt, so that rules out Ireland’s largest distillery, Midleton as they don’t make a single malt."

"The inspiration for this label comes straight out of a British made sitcom called ‘Father Ted’ It originally aired on Channel 4 from April 1995 and ran for just three series up until May 1998 Set on the fictional Craggy Island, a remote location off Ireland's west coast, the show is about three priests exiled on the island for various past incidents. Our label comes from an episode called ‘A Song for Europe’ that featured ‘My lovely Horse’"

About the Label
"This ace expression from the eponymous island features a reference's to George Orwell's 1984, which the legendary author wrote while on Jura. It's also got a reference to Jura's overwhelming deer population. It’s all been done in the style of communist-era Russia propaganda poster from the 1980s. Pretty damn scary if you ask me! We have rewritten a few lines from his famous 1984 novel to fit our love for whisky."
