The champagnes from Marie-Courtin are truly something special. An ultra-fine, floating style with total fineness. All her wines grow in a single plot of 2.5 hectares, which is also the total size of the domain that Marie Courtin founded in 2000. Because all her wines come from a single vineyard, she has decided to emphasize the differences in champagnes through vinification. There are wines matured in wood, amphorae, enamel tanks and one without sulphur. All come from the 2.5 hectares of single vineyard on the Kimmeridge marl soil of the Soden, on the Côte des Bar. Winemaker Dominique Moreau, who named the estate after her grandmother, is a master of purism. The Philipponnat family has been growing grapes in Champagne since 1522. The House was founded in 1910 by Pierre Philipponnat. Charles Philipponnat took over as CEO in 1999 and has improved the quality and production vastly by implementing smaller oak barrels, keeping different vineyard plots separate and utilizing only the first press grapes It's made from a blend of 65% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Meunier from first press juice, mainly from Grand and Premier Crus grapes from the heart of the Champagne wine-growing area.

It's vinified using traditional methods to avoid premature oxidation. Partial malolactic fermentation and reserve wines are aged in casks to allow the aromas to develop complexity. The grapes are harvested at optimal maturity and then vinified in a purely traditional way and aged for 15 months in French oak vats and barrels. Henri Baylet and his son Michel acquired Ch. Landereau in 1959 and now operates 80 ha in both Bordeaux proper and the sub-region of Entre-deux-Mers. All their wines are bottled at the Château.
