d`Arenberg Grenache The Custodian
$25.99
Region:Australia > McLaren Vale
This wine is named "The Custodian" because of d'Arry Osborn's stubborn resistance at keeping vineyards planted with Grenache in the 1980s when the grape wasn't very popular, That move has since paid off as producer D'Arenberg now has just about 1/3rd of all old bush vine Grenache plantings left in the McLaren Vale and those vines are responsible for this wine which showcases plenty of character, bright acidity and plenty of fruit balanced by silky tannins.
Pair with wild boar, a mild curry or stew or ravioli,
