Whiskyland Chapter Sixteen is a marriage of a 2005 1st fill sherry hogshead of Highland Park, with a 1997 refill hogshead of Highland Park. The resulting 20 year old grog, bottled at natural marrying strength, is a magnificent, multi-vintage take on classical, mature Highland Park distillery character, with a subtle drenching of sherry. So, lash up your sails for a storm, christen all your weapons with names like 'Bone Squelcher', 'Skull Mangler' and 'Thighroid Dispruptor', grab a few nosing horns and pray to your preferred assortment of imaginary Gods that you wash ashore on one of the stretches of Whiskyland coastline that is well-served by hostelry and at least three star accommodation."

"The 100% Islay Sherry Cask Matured 11 Years Old, was distilled from our 2011, 2012 and 2013 barley harvests, and matured for a minimum of 11 years in ex-oloroso sherry butts. Bottled at 50% abv. with no added colour or chill-filtration, this release combines 16 individually selected first-fill oloroso sherry butts originally used by José y Miguel Martín, Jerez, Spain. Ex-sherry casks impart remarkable depth, with pronounced notes of dark fruits, spice, and smoked meat, in contrast to the lighter citrus-driven profile more typical of our previous 100% Islay expressions."

The horse has saddlebags either side of it – one side has a slab of the Elgin Marbles Freize in and the other side has a pouch of normal ‘marbles’, of which a few are falling out as they walk along. Em’s reworking of the label keeps the Lord, and the themes, at the fore."
