This expression features double the marriage time —up to 6 months of marrying in oak—resulting in a whisky with richer flavor and a longer finish. The secret behind its gorgeous flavor is the unique combination of complex blending, higher ABV 51.4% and secondary aging process known as "marriage.
"The complex formula is created by blending more than 100 different batches of malt and grain whiskies. After blending, the whisky is filled into used barrels and matured for up to 6 more months. This "marriage" process harmonizes all components in the formula, resulting in a mellow taste."

This is a game-changing whisky from Compass Box, built not from acquired aged components, but rather new make spirit acquired and filled into Compass Box own casks. Orchard House is composed of primarily Linkwood (39%), Clynelish (29%), Benrinnes (20%) and Caol Ila (2%), all from First Fill ex-Boubon Barrels, along with Highland Blended Malt (2%) from custom French oak casks and a secret Speyside single malt (8%) from Revatted Oloroso Sherry-Seasoned Butts. Hmmm, a "Distillery near the town of Aberlour" sounds a lot like Benfarclas... 46%.

Torabhaig Cnoc Na Moine

The second release of Torabhaig to come to Canada (3rd if you count both versions of the Allt Gleann) is "Cnoc Na Moine", which is Scots Gaelic for 'hill of peat'. Bottled at 46%, the whisky was matured in a mix of Bourbon, Oloroso, and PX casks. The spirit had a phenol lever of 78.4ppm, the bottled whisky 19.7ppm.
