The mash bill differs slightly from the excellent Rittenhouse Bonded Rye which is made at the same distillery and also owned by Heaven Hill. It is created using three different bonded whiskies made and matured at Jack Daniel's Distillery: Malt Whiskey, Rye Whiskey, and Tennessee Whiskey all married together and bottled at 50% ABV.
As the label and name of this Jack Daniel's Whiskey show, this is a Bonded Whiskey. That means it has to adhere to the 1897 Bottled In Bond Act, which states:
- All whiskey in the bottle must be produced by one distillery and by one distiller over the course of one distillation season.
- The whiskey must be at least four years old.
- It must be bottled at least 100 proof / 50% ABV
- The whiskey must be aged in bonded warehouses under United States federal supervision.

Kentucky Owl Wiseman Bourbon

Kentucky Owl Wiseman is currently contract distilled at Bardstown Bourbon Company. The Wiseman is a blend of the distillery's Rye and Wheat Bourbon mash bills that are at least four years of age. These two Bourbons are then further blended with 5.5 Year Old and 8.5 Year Old Bourbon sourced from undisclosed Kentucky distilleries. The resulting whisky is bottled at 45.4%.
