Daftmill 2011 Summer Batch Release
$184.99
This whisky was featured on Day 17 of our 2025 KWM Still Not An Advent Calendar Tasting Series! You can read more about the whisky here.
We have a new release from Scotland's smallest distillery... I can't back up that statement about them being Scotland's smallest distillery, but it was on their website. Given there is only one man making the whisky, and he only distills when he's not farming... it is probably true. What is undeniable is that the whiskies are lovely, legitimately rare, and in my opinion, it might be one of the best batches we've seen on this side of the Atlantic!

Producer Description
"The barley variety Publican was grown in the 43ac field and harvested by John and Sandy on the 28th & 29th August 2009. It was then dried and stored on the farm to be malted in Alloa during the summer of 2010. The twenty-seven first-fill barrels, which had previously been used to mature bourbon from Clermont Springs distillery in Kentucky, were matured on the upper level of our dunnage warehouse. They were filled in June, July and August 2011 and bottled in September 2023."

Cadenhead Original Burnside 28 Year
$364.99
This is a teaspooned Blended Malt - like originally distilled at Balvenie distillery and then "teaspooned with a small amount of Glenfiddich or Kininvie to ensure it cannot be sold or identified as Balvienie, or called a single malt any longer. It was distilled in 1996 and bottled after 28 years at 46%.
From Cadenhead's Website
Burnside*, created by William Grant & Sons, is what’s known as a ‘teaspooned’ malt. This blended malt displays notes of old leather books, gorse bushes, papaya and golden syrup. Superbly balanced with an abundance of flavour throughout.
*This is not a distillery name, Cadenhead's owns the trademark for the name "Burnside"

"The design centers around the concept of "fusion," showcasing the perfect combination of four distinct cask types. The oak grain is represented in four unique colors, each with its own character, yet harmoniously blending together. The overall design embraces a minimalist and elegant white palette, highlighting the tranquility and understated beauty that come with the passage of time.
"Introducing Kavalan's inaugural 15-year-old single malt whisky, a tribute to the subtropical essence of Taiwan, inspired by the island's vibrant tropical fruit aromas. Aged in hand-selected ex-Bourbon barrels, Oloroso sherry casks, Ruby port barrels, and Puncheons, this whisky is crafted in small batches to achieve a harmonious blend, unveiling a rich bouquet and layered complexity. On the palate, it delivers a robust profile with notes of caramel, chocolate, and candied fruits, complemented by hints of toffee and dried fruits, culminating in delicate citrus aromas and a warm embrace of woody spices.
