700 mlProducer Tasting Note
Nose: Mexican Dark chocolate with an Americano on the side. A lunch bag filled with granola, heavy on the toasted hazelnuts. The absolute slightest whiff of smoke — nearly undetectable, but it’s there if you look for it. Clove and orange oil. Rich, steeped malt, Luxardo cherries, and more chocolate. Quite decedent.
Palate: The malt presence is unmistakable. If the distillery told us they used chocolate malt in the mash, we would’ve believed them. Ginger snap cookies, cinnamon apple rings, toasted coconut, and the sweetness of green jalapeño skins (minus the heat, just the sweetness). Tinned fruit in heavy syrup with a focus on the cherries.
Finish: Long with a touch of cracked black pepper, malted milk balls, and the return of that tiny, tiny hint of smoke.
