World-renowned wine critic Jancis Robinson named the Nichol Vineyard Syrah among her top 25 in BC when she visited the region in 2009. We agree! The first Syrah was planted at the estate in 1989, and the balance of the site's 5.5 acres were planted in 1990. Nota Bene is Black Hills signature red wine - a Bordeaux style blend of Merlot plus the Cabernet grapes' Sauvignon and Franc. This sumptuous, complex red comes from a record-breaking long, hot vintage, and it has notes of black cherries and vanilla.
The 2022 vintage is made up of 46% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 18% Cabernet Franc that spent 18 months in French Oak barriques and puncheons (47% new oak) before being bottled.
