Little Engine's philosophy begins in the vineyard. Precise pruning, canopy management, and cluster thinning. They utilize very low crop tonnage producing fruit with intense concentration. Hand selected fruit combined with minimally-invasive wine making techniques allow for our wine’s pure expression. A combination of natural yeasts, gentle maceration, French oak barrels and attention to every detail, results in wines of depth, character, elegance and finish.

 Sourced primarily from estate grown Merlot grapes from their Corbishley Vineyard, and Cab Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon from Estate farmed vineyard on the Naramata Bench with Malbec coming from Osoyoos. Hand harvested, de-stemmed and minimally crushed into one-ton fermenters to encourage a high percentage of whole berries. After a few days cold soak, the musts are gradually warmed up to initiate a natural or directed fermentation. Hand plunging is used to keep the cap moist and to ensure colour and tannin extraction. The total maceration time is approximately 3 weeks. The wines are drained and pressed off just before dryness, and tank settled prior to going to barrel. Showcasing a warm vintage with stewed plums and blackberries, the nose remains lifted and fresh with a touch of botanicals. The palate is decadent with blueberry, vivid dried florals, cocoa bean and a soft, plush mouthfeel balanced by youthful acidity with a touch of spice. Merlot (70%), Cabernet Franc (22%), Malbec (5%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (3%). Enjoy now through 2029 under ideal cellaring conditions.
