This lovely little Linkwood was distilled in 2010, maturing 13 years in an ex-Bourbon Hogshead cask before bottling at 56.8% exclusively for KWM. We weren't looking for another Linkwood cask for the store when we picked this one, but we couldn't turn it down. Bottled 20 days shy of its 14th birthday, it has taken nearly a year to come home, and we are thrilled it is finally here. 295 Bottles.
SMOS Tormore 14 Year KWM Cask

This 14 year old Tormore was offered to us by our friends at Elixir Distillers, who purchased the distillery in 2022. While there aren't currently any official distillery bottlings, this cask was part of the distillery purchase, and is technically a Tormore Distillery cask, bottled by the distillery owner. Bottled under the Single Malts of Scotland label, the whisky was filled into a fresh ex-Bourbon Barrel in 2010, and bottled in late 2024 at 55.7%. Only 216 total bottles!

Vidbertus Elixir

Vidbertus is located in the Conca de Barbera, at the south-eastern end, inland region of Camp de Tarragona, the central Catalan depression behind the pre-coastal mountain range of Tarragona. The altitude of the property is 500 metres above sea level. The winemaking process begins in the vineyard with an ecological and environmentally friendly cultivation. The harvest is manual and done gently to preserve the characteristics of the grapes. The work is done with controlled cold fermentation and an exact maceration to obtain the harmony they look for. They intervene as little as possible in all of their wines. The grape is Indigenous to the region and is aged in French oak, showing lots of black fruits and some spice. It's produced from 100% Trepat, an indigenous grape, aged in French oak, with lots of black fruits, silky tannins, and nicely balancing acidity. It's ideal with roast and braised meats, duck and other game.

The Port Askaig 17, and Cask Strength, are the first new whiskies we have seen in this range in a couple of years. Bottled at 50.5% from a parcel of undisclosed Islay single malt matured in ex-Bourbon casks. Very good chance this is Caol Ila... but we'll have to taste it to be sure! 87.55pts Whiskybase
