Definitive Guide 2 Canadian Distilleries
$31.99
The foremost expert on Canadian whisky, Davin de Kergommeaux, has a new book out with his writing partner Blair Phillips. The Difinitive Guide to Canadian Distilleries: The Portable Expert, delves into the growing world of Distillation in Canada. It features proviles of more than 200 distilleries, tasting notes from more than 125 whiskies and more than 50 classic and modern cocktail recipes.
Author's Note
"Two years ago we embarked on a journey to tell the incredible story of the most exciting and cutting-edge distilleries that are shaping Canada’s industry. The book is finally out today in what has become a weird, unnatural world no one could have predicted. While the days are getting longer and we are beginning to feel spring in the air, almost all non-essential businesses in Canada have closed. We are cheered though that despite adversity, almost all of Canada's distilleries have actively joined the effort to fight the pandemic.
"In writing this book, we have gotten to know many of these very distilleries, and we hope their stories and spirits found in this book might be a welcome distraction. And while we cannot visit these distilleries at the moment, our wish is that this book can give you a virtual distillery tour from coast-to-coast. We hope our tasting notes will guide you to new spirits that cannot be missed, many of which you can buy online, so you can then mix your bounty in distillery-specific cocktail recipes."
El Jolgorio Espadin
$163.99
Producer Description
"El Jolgorio translates to “the revelry”. Jolgorios are small festivals that occur in remote, mountain villages throughout Oaxaca, Mexico. They celebrate births, deaths, weddings and Saint’s days. For centuries, the lifeblood of these celebrations has been traditional mezcal. In 2010, the Cortés family began building a collective of top mezcal distillers from around Oaxaca. As of 2019, El Jolgorio represents sixteen different families, working in ten different regions of Oaxaca, Mexico, each with its own special story. Every bottle is hand-marked with the specific details of each batch, to truly connect the drinker with the family behind the expression.
In 2017, the team behind the brand realized that certain varieties of agave would be extremely limited and they would only be able to make them available once per year (if at all). They began packaging these rare editions in black bottles to set them apart from the other releases.
The artwork on the first 8 releases was created by Alejandro Peña (Espadin, Pechuga, Tobala, Cuixe, Madrecuixe, Tepeztate, Barril and Mexicano). The next 5 labels were created by Asis Cortes (Arroqueno, Jabalin, Coyote, Tobaxiche, and Cenizo) and the Sierrudo artwork was created by Alberto Almánza."
Drumshanbo Single Pot Still Whiskey
$79.99
One of the many newer distilleries on the Irish Whiskey scene is the Shed Distillery, which was founded in 2014. The Drumshanbo Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey is triple distilled with a grain combination of malted barley and Irish Barra Oats. The resulting spirit is aged in a combination of ex-Bourbon and ex-Oloroso casks.
What is Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey you ask? It is whiskey made using a combination of malted and unmalted barley. Why do this, you ask? Why, to dodge taxes, of course! The Malt Tax came into being in Ireland for a short time starting in 1785, enforced by the (insert expletive said in your best Irish accent here) English. The Irish, being Irish, decided that they didn't need to use malted barley for the entirety of the mash used to distill whiskey and started adding portions of unmalted barley. Necessity being the mother of invention, this eventually became a legitimate style of whiskey-making that is now not just celebrated but codified into law in Ireland with the Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey classification.
From the Producer
"Every precious drop of Drumshanbo Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey has been triple distilled at the Shed Distillery using Malted Irish Barley, Un-malted Irish Barley and Irish Barra Oats. Aged in Sherry Oloroso and Kentucky Bourbon casks with no added colour and no chill filtration, this 43% Single Pot Still has been proudly distilled by our Head Distiller, Brian Taft."

Terredora Fiano Campania
$36.99
This winery begins with a tale of two brothers - Walter and Antonio Mastroberardino -who parted ways, with Antonio acquiring the winery and Walter acquiring the vineyards (renamed as Terradora). The Terredora di Paolo estate is located on the hills of Irpinia surrounding the valleys of the Sabato and Calore rivers. With about 180 hectares of vineyards, they rank among the most prestigious producers in Southern Italy. The South of Italy is one of the most interesting wine areas in the country and Campania, and especially the Irpinia region, produces wines from native grape varieties such as Aglianico, Fiano, Greco, Piedirosso and Falanghina, all of which are brimming with personality. Aglianico has been called the Barolo of the South for its power and its ability to age for many years. We have just received their Irpinia Aglianico, Falanghina, Rosato, and Lacryma Cristi Rosso (made from Piedirosso).
Fiano is a white grape from Southern Italy that everyone should get acquainted with. ITs a bright, elegant and floral wine, that shows notes of pear, Mediterranean citrus, acacia, toasted hazelnut and a lovely note of minerality. The Terredora Fiano is one of the best examples on our market, with added elegance to make this wine remarkable for the price! A KWM exclusive.

Sipsmith Gin 375ml
$30.99
For years we tried to get this gin in the market to no avail, and then one day it just showed up. Seems a big multinational bought it, so the good news is it's here, and at a more reasonable price than originally suspected.
From the Producer
Sipsmith: the first copper pot distillery in London for nearly two hundred years! Sipsmith London Dry Gin was born out of a desire to see gin production return to the city where it earned its name. With a nod to traditional hand crafted production, their gin combines traditional copper pot distillation with a recipe that wouldn't look unfamiliar to an eighteenth century Master Distiller. London Dry Gin is the quintessential expression of a classic London Dry Gin. Bold, complex and aromatic - smooth enough for a Martini, yet rich and balanced, perfect for a G&T.
Copper Stilled in Small Batches: Every drop of alcohol that goes into a bottle of Sipsmith has been distilled in copper. Copper draws out the impurities and cleanses the spirit. It’s what makes Sipsmith spirits so incredibly smooth.
One Shot Method: One of the only gins in the world to use the “One-Shot Method”, meaning we use exactly the right amount of botanicals in our distillation so that we only need to add water to bring it down to bottling strength. 99% of gins are made using a concentrate which is diluted with neutral grain spirit and water. This neutral alcohol has had no contact with copper nor the botanicals so it produces a harsher, less balanced gin.
Hand Cut: We only ever retain a tight heart cut (the highest quality) of the liquid which is cut by hand. Much like a fine single malt, it’s what delivers our uncompromising quality of spirit.
