The history of Quinta do Noval is marked by the action of visionaries:
António José da Silva, a port shipper from Porto, acquired Quinta do Noval in 1894, after its devastation by phylloxera. He restored the property by replanting the vines. Luiz Vasconcelos Porto, his son-in-law, was the author of a vast programme of innovations. He transformed many of the narrow older terraces into broader terraces. This permitted a more efficient use of the land and a better exposition to the sun.
Since 1993, Quinta do Noval is part of the international viticultural group of AXA Millésimes. A new bottling line and warehouse was completed in 1997 in Alijo, near Pinhão. This project made Quinta do Noval the first of the traditional Port shippers to centralise all its activities in the Douro Valley. In the 90's, around a hundred hectares of the domaine have been replanted, adapting pruning methods to suit each parcel. Today, we have high quality grapes which on one hand assure the excellence of Quinta do Noval Ports and on the other hand the production of Douro wines since the 2004 vintage.

This success established Quinta do Noval among the great names of Vintage Port in the English and American markets, a leading position in terms of reputation which is maintained today.

Nutty Solera Oloroso Sherry

This off-dry Oloroso is great value for the price. Walnut, spice, dried fruit and some earthy, meaty notes on the nose. The palate has some sweetness, but the tangy Sherry character balances it nicely and the raisin, mandarin orange, fig and leather notes linger on a long finish, according to Wine Access magazine.
Alvears Pedro Ximenez Solera 1927

Alvear makes delicious sherry in the sunny region of Andalucia. This smooth, sweet wine is the result of the Pedro Ximenez grapes being left to dry under the sun on esparto-grass mats. Once the fermentation is over, the wine is placed in American oak casks, where it will age by means of the traditional method involving rows of casks known as the solera system begun by Alvear in 1927.

Aged under a veil of yeast, called “flor”, in Bodega Las Cruces in Jerez de la Frontera. The inland climate in the town of Jerez de la Frontera provides a more rounded and fuller style of wine."

It’s 15% alcohol volumen obtained by biological aging must be undertaken in full in wineries located in Sanlúcar de Barrameda. Being a product called “pasada en rama” combines two attributes, one of them the freshness of a product twinned with his barrel and a finesse and elegance of its pre-oxidative balance. The very special microclimate of our winery located at the mouth of the Guadalquivir River, provides the development of the ‘velo de flor’ which provides its peculiar organoleptic characteristics. This biological aging continues for a period of three to four years in American oak barrels using the traditional ‘criaderas’ and solera system."
