Aline Beauné is a winemaker to watch. More and more people are looking outside the main Côte of Burgundy for wines that mortals can afford, and this attention is drawing talent out of these regions. Aline has been making wine at the top tier in Santenay for over a decade, but all the while her parents have been renting out a familial plot in Montagny. In 2018, the contract with the previous tenants on 5 HA of prime vineyard land expired. Aline jumped at the opportunity to take over these vines and start her own domaine. The previous tenants were farming responsibly, but Aline felt the land had more to offer. She is transitioning to organic farming and already using some biodynamic treatments to ease this transition for the vines.

Le Nozay is a small 17th-century castle located near the village of Sainte Gemme en Sancerrois to the north of Sancerre. It wasn’t until 1970 that Baron Philippe de Benoist and his wife Marie-Hélène came to settle in the Château du Nozay in this magnificent setting which later became the Domaine du Nozay. Armed with their will and their ardour to create a vineyard in Sancerre, Philippe and Marie-Hélène de Benoist planted the first hectare of Sauvignon Blanc, the king grape variety of Sancerrois, in 1971 – an area which they extended over time to 15 hectares.

In the early 1970s, the two sisters Armande and Charlotte Douhairet inherited the estate and decided to separate. Armande fought to keep her share and Charlotte sold hers.
In 1989, Armande joined forces with André Porcheret, her adopted son. André will develop the estate in parallel with his role as steward at the Hospices de Beaune.
In 2004, Burgundy lost "a great lady of wine": Armande Douhairet, whom everyone called the "Miss", passed away.
That year, André Porcheret was joined by his granddaughter, to whom he passed on his know-how and values.
Today, Cataldina and Vincent, creators of good humour, passionately manage the 6.5 hectares of the estate. Guillaume Michaut has been surrounded by vineyards and the history of Chablis since childhood. His grandfather was an early believer in the wines of Chablis and worked proudly to expand the Chablis appellation to his village of Beines and beyond. By the 1960s, he was able to pass a rather large holding of vineyards down to his sons. As a teenager, Guillaume worked alongside his father and uncles in the vineyards and joined the family domaine in 2004. However, after his father passed away, Guillaume realized that his vision was starkly different from that of his uncles, and decided to set out on his own with his small share of family vines back in 2018.
