Coca i Fito Garnatxa
$91.99
Born in the heart of Alt Penedès to a family of farmers, brothers Toni and Miquel Coca i Fitó have forged parallel and complementary paths throughout their lives, which ultimately converged in 2006 with the realization of a shared dream: the Coca i Fitó winemaking project. Situated in Montsant, they have 30 hectares of vineyards sprawling across various municipalities, come together with the aim of crafting wines full of soul and identity.
Montsant, like the Priorat, is a remarkably beautiful region with steep mountains that rise more than 3,300 feet above sea level. The climate is harsh: hot summers and bitter winters. The vines are planted directly on the steep hillsides, on what are called "costers" or terraces A truly special and fascinating wine, full of nuances. Made quite traditionally from a severe selection of old-vine Grenache grapes. Clean and clear initial aromas of mature red fruits with local herbs, sweet spices, elegant yet fresh attack, enduring on the palate. Despite being from the 2014 vintage, the wine is still remarkably youthful, displaying the power that can be achieved from old-vine Grenache.

Saumur Les Pouches Blanc
$27.99
This is a deliciously bone dry chenin blanc from the Loire Valley. Grapes are picked from small parcels and blended into a special cuvée by a co-op that worked together with the growers to craft this wonderful summer sipper. Intense aromas of white fruit, flowers, and citrus on the nose. Mouthwatering acidity with a citrusy, mineral finish. Pair with shellfish, wild salmon, and Thai food.
Aubuisieres Cuvee de Silex
$27.99
Formerly known as Domaine Bernard Fouquet, until Bernard retired in 2021, handing the reins to Charles Lesaffre. Charles is the grandson of Gérald Bruley des Varannes, the man from whom Bernard's father André acquired his first vineyards, thereby bringing the story of the Domaine full circle. An avid practitioner of viticulture and oenology, Charles joined Bernard as an associate in 2019. Two years into his tenure, Charles has emphasized organic and biodynamic practices. Charles has continued, as Bernard before him, to capture the unique Vouvray mineral tones, along with the wonderfully balanced expression of fruit of the Chenin Blanc grape, in his wines.
The Cuvee de Silex from Domaines des Aubuisieres is made from fifty year--old Chenin Blanc vines in the Loire Valley. Soils for 'Cuvée Silex' are exclusively flint stone (silex in French means flint), imparting a smoky, mineral essence to the wine. Look for a bouquet of pear, green apple, quince, and melon that develops notes of mineral and honey. The wine is ever so slightly off-dry, which lends it a juicy freshness. Expressive and exceptionally well balanced on the palate with lots of lemon and a trace of anise. Great with turkey, spicy Asian dishes and salmon.
Tedeschi Monte Olmi
$143.99
Tedeschi boasts a deep bond with the Valpolicella region that has kept it on the path of quality and tradition produced exclusively from grapes grown on hillsides. Monte Olmi is the name of the vineyard, located in Pedemonte di Valpolicella, the heart of the Classic Valpolicella zone. Grown on ancient terraces to ensure water removal in case of abundant rainfall, it is one of the crown jewels of the Tedeschi line. Notes of cherry, raspberry and red currant combined with a hint of Slavonia oak. The taste is elegant and robust. Best consumed within 15-20 years of the vintage date.
Peter Lauer Riesling Sekt Brut
$59.99
This esteemed wine estate in Ayl has among the best steep slopes on the Saar. In addition to the famous Ayler Kupp, they cultivate two other important vineyards in the Mosel region: the Saar Feilser directly above the river and the steeply sloping vineyard Schonfels, a little farther upstream. They recently replanted and recultivated the now forgotten Lambertskirch, just a stone’s throw from Schonfels.
Their white wines have been among the best in the Saar for many years. Since 2013,they have been a member of the VDP (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates). Their wines from VDP GROSSEN LAGEN in the dry and off-dry styles are particularly special. This is a pure, bone-dry Sekt that expresses the transparency of Riesling in these cool, southerly vineyards of the Mosel valley. Although this is bottle fermented like Champagne, it is a world away from the toasty richness of that wine. Instead it's properly dry, chalky and bracing, the ultimate appetite-whetter.
