GlenAllachie 2014 KWM Puncheon #1769
$169.99
Our 2nd KWM exclusive single cask from GlenAllachie is a 2014 vintage Oloroso Sherry Puncheon, bottled after 11 years at 62%. This is a sherry bomb, with finesse, that will delight Billy Walker fans, and anyone who likes a proper sherried dram. Despite the punchy ABV it is very drinkable at natural strength.
We can probably assume this whisky was re-racked by Billy and his team at some point after they acquired the distillery from Pernod Ricard. First, the ABV, is a clue that this was put into its original cask at still strength, rather than the industry standard 63.5%, presumably to save on casks. Pernod almost certainly wasn't putting GlenAllachie into top of the line sherry cask in the mid-2010s when demand and pricing for sherry casks was high.
The Billy Walker secret sauce, typified by his time running GlenDronach, is to re rack maturing stocks into more active casks. The Outturn, 700 bottles, which is a lot from a single cask, even a puncheon which can range from 500-700 litres in size, is another clue that this was likely a finishing cask? Probably, but even if true, the reality is the whisky very likely spent more time in the Puncheon, than it would have in the casks it started out in.
Regardless, the result is an excellent GlenAllachie sherry cask, and a bottling we are thrilled to have our name on!

GlenAllachie 11 Year Palo Cortado Cask
$109.99
This 11 year old GlenAllachie is part of the Sherry Finish series released by the distillery. It is bottled at 48% ABV.
Producer Description
"Palo Cortado is the rarest style of Sherry, combining the aromatic finesse of Amontillado with the structure and richness of Oloroso. It develops when the ‘flor’ yeast layer naturally fades on a wine that was initially intended to become a Fino.
Using puncheons and hogshead casks that previously held this exceptional Sherry, the whisky develops a beautifully layered character, with notes of ripe plums, dark mocha and warming cinnamon spice.
We proudly present The Wood Collection at a high strength of 48% ABV, natural colour and non-chill filtered, allowing the unique character to shine through."
GlenAllachie 12 Year Old
$99.99

The GlenAllachie 12 Year is one of the newly independent distillery’s first core releases, alongside a cask strength 10 Year, 18 Year and 25 Year. As with the BenRiach Distillery Co.’s whiskies, Billy Walker has opted to bottle at 46% without colouring or chill-filtering. That tugs at our heartstrings!

The venerable 15-Year-Old from GlenAllachie has received an updated label which no longer looks like it came from the town of Bedrock as designed by a modern stone-age family. The new label hosts more readable fonts and a baby blue background.
First launched in 2019, The GlenAllachie 15 is said to be the "jewel in their crown" for the distillery. Bottled at 46%, the whisky was finished in puncheons and hogsheads that previously held Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry.
Producer Description
"This spectacular Scotch whisky embodies our unwavering dedication to obtaining Sherry wood of the highest standard. A watchful eye throughout the maturation journey ensures the whisky is bottled at its optimum."
GlenAllachie Meikle Toir The Chinquapin
$91.99
‘Meikle Tòir‘ (big pursuit) is GlenAllachie's heavily peated Speyside single malt. The 5 Year Old Chinquapin One started its maturation in ex-Bourbon Barrels, and then was finished in Chinquapin Virgin Oak Barrels. Botted at 48%.
From The Producer
"Coming in at 35 PPM, the whisky has a sweeter style of smoke character owing to the mainland peat from St. Fergus used to kiln the barley. After a lengthy 160-hour fermentation, the whisky has a complex character which stands up well to ageing in virgin oak casks."
