Producer Description
"This single malt release, finished in casks used in the making of a port-style fortified wine here in British Columbia. While visiting The Burrowing Owl Estate Winery in 2024 we got to try the Coruja (Portugese for Owl) and were immediately impressed with its quality and uniqueness. The Coruja is matured in barrels using a solera system, having used Port Pipes from Europe in the past we knew right away that we wanted to finish a whisky in one of these barrels."
Michter's Kentucky Straight Bourbon
$82.99
This is Michter's Flagship Bourbon, bottled at 45.7%, it is excellent value.
While the Michter’s name has a long and storied history, the Michter’s Distillery of Louisville, KY has only been in operation since 2015. Any whiskey bottled that is older than that was sourced from other distilleries, typically within Kentucky. Luckily, the quality of anything bottled with the Michter’s label on it is typically high, regardless of their original provenance.
Other than their single barrel products, Michter’s typically bottles their whiskey from selected small batches of 20 barrels or less.
From the Distillery: "Michter’s US 1 Bourbon is made from a carefully selected mashbill that features the highest quality American corn. It is then matured to the peak of perfection, with barrels often aging in excess of eight years. Truly “small batch,” each batch of our US 1 Bourbon is typically composed of no more than two dozen barrels, leaving no margin for “blending out” imperfection and thus necessitating excellence from every barrel," according to the team at Michter's. It has notes of "rich caramel with balanced vanilla, stone fruit notes, smoky depth, with an oak finish."

Basil Hayden 10 Year Bourbon
$94.99
You don't see Bourbons with an age statement at or above 10 years very often, and the price on this one is pretty decent. This is a very spicy high-rye Bourbon, and limited in availability.
Producer Description
"Basil Hayden’s 10 Year Old Bourbon features the same high-rye bourbon recipe that Basil Hayden’s fans know and love, but the whiskey is aged in barrels longer to create another layer of complexity and deeper flavor. The result of the extra aging is a distinct whiskey with big oak aromas along with hints of char and vanilla. Basil Hayden’s trademark spice shines through as the perfect complement to the caramel sweetness and wood flavors, making the whiskey a memorable one for fans and newcomers alike."
