"The UAIS bottle is made from the most eco-friendly materials possible; 100% recycled glass and recycled paper for the label with a sustainable wood stopper and a biodegradable vegetable-based seal. UAIS is a part of Ahascragh Distillers Family Bond series of sourced releases but within a few years the liquid inside these bottles will be produced using a zero-emissions distilling process at Ahascragh Distillery.

About Colla Uais
"Irish legend tells the story of The Three Collas. Caireall Colla Uais, Muiredach Colla Fo Chrí and Aed Colla Menn, three brothers who conquered and ruled over most of Ireland, with Colla Uais becoming Ard Rí: The High King of Ireland in the 4th century. Irish history tells us there was a steadfast rule against the slaying of a sitting High King. If a person were to violate that rule, none of their descendants would ever accede to the Irish throne. But Colla Uais (pron. Oosh) and his daring warriors slew the sitting monarch and defeated his followers, thus becoming the High King of Ireland. And so our legend was born."

This single malt whiskey was initially matured in ex-Bourbon casks before a period of finishing in Mizunara oak. The result is at least 7 years old and bottled at 46%.
Glendalough Distillery was founded by five friends in 2011. It was the first craft distillery to come online in Ireland in the modern era, and heralded the upcoming boom of distillery and brand growth Irish Whiskey would soon undergo. Glendalough Distillery resides in a valley within County Wicklow, about an hour's drive south of Dublin. It has been owned by Mark Anthony Brands since 2019.

The volcanic northern-most island of Japan, Hokkaido is where we found Mizunara, the most sought-after oak in the whiskey world which we use to age our 7yo Irish Single Malt.
The trunks of these uniquely beautiful trees are prone to growing twisted and are notoriously difficult to cooper due to its porousness. However, therein lies its saving grace, whiskey can seep deeper into the wood extracting more flavour from this unique cask."

"Initially, matured in ex-Bourbon Barrels from the famed Brown Forman of Kentucky and made from American Oak 200ltr (Quercus Alba) with a heavy charring. We filled these casks with a mixed mash bill Single Pot Still distillate which included malted barley, unmalted barley, oats and rye. All of these grains are Irish and grown locally.
"In collaboration with the famous Madeira house, Justino’s, we sourced some of their finest vintage Madeira casks of Tinta Negro (1998 & 2000), Boal (1999) and Sercial (1999, 2000 & 2006) Madeira Colheita wine single varietals. We were able to access these casks from a friendship that has flourished from a previous special collaboration. The wines have been fortified and undergone the canteiro process where the wine is barrel aged with naturally high temperatures in the barrel storage room, replicating the sea voyage maritime aging of the past on Portugal galleons of the medieval ages.
"All casks were formally 350ltr Cognac casks made from (Quercus Robur) French Oak. These Madeira wines ranged from Sweet to Medium to Dry, offering a wide depth and breadth of the terroir of the volcanic island of Madeira.
"The label design of this expression talks about water which is a vital ingredient when making whiskey. This is also a nod to the flowing waters of the Boyne River as well as the North Atlantic Ocean surrounding the Madeira Islands."

Boann Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey – PX Cask
A New Dawn….
Initially, matured in Oloroso Sherry Hogsheads from Bodegas Garvey’s of Jerez da la Frontera, Spain. These 250ltr American Oak (Quercus Alba) hogsheads were chosen alongside George Espie (RIP ex Master of Wood from The Macallan) and Ventura Nunez from the famed Vasyma Cooperage in Jerez.
We filled these casks with a mixed mash bill Single Pot Still distillate which included malted barley, unmalted barley, oats and rye. All of these grains are Irish and grown locally.
We then sourced the most amazing PX casks we have ever come across. These PX Butts 500ltr+ were discovered by our partner cooperage in Andalusia, R.L. Rodriguez, and hail from the Mediterranean climes of Malaga. They had been in a vintage PX Solera system for over 60 years and were thick to the bone with gorgeous PX syrupy wine.
A portion of these casks are made exclusively from Chestnut, which is a very rare variety of wood to mature whiskey in Ireland. Our friends across the water in Scotland can only mature their spirit in oak casks.
We then finished our wonderful Oloroso Sherry matured Single Pot Still in these rare vintage PX Solera Casks.
Harmonising the Oloroso Sherry hogsheads maturation with the rich Spanish PX Butts has created something truly special and decadent.
The label design of this expression talks about the wood and the grain of the cask. As we have used very rare and special 60yo Chestnut PX Solera Butts for this whiskey."

Johnnie Walker Black Label is at least 12 years old and is light and smokey in style. This iconic blend traces its origins back to 1870 when it was called Old Special Highland Whisky, renamed Johnny Walker Black Label in 1909. The second from entry level expression can be sipped neat of mixed. While the Black Label is comprised of between 35 and 40 individual components, there are five distilleries that are considered its main building blocks. These cornerstones are Talisker, Caol Ila, Cragganmore and Glenkinchie for the malt portion and Cameronbridge for the grain whisky.
