"Loch Ardnahoe's depth is not precisely known, though it's reputed to be the deepest loch on Islay. While it's said to be deep, with risks associated with exploration, a precise measurement hasn't been established. The water within is characterized by its softness, filtering through peat and rock."

The Big Peat makes one promise: 'peat." Vatted from single malts distilled at Ardbeg, Bowmore, Caol Ila and Port Ellen. What more could you ask for? This whisky may be made with Bowmore and Caol Ila, but it is its Ardbeg which is most dominant. Given that Port Ellen has been closed for 35 years, and any whisky from that distillery is now very mature, even the addition of only a small amount is very special.
