Bottled at a respectable 111.8 proof, or 55.9% ABV, This Blended American Whiskey from Bardstown Bourbon Company was finished in Ferrand Cognac Casks. The selected whiskies used in its creation are primarily Kentucky Straight Bourbon, with a small amount of Kentucky Straight Rye.

We blend it with a hand selected number of 7 year old barrels of Wheated bourbon from Wyoming. We place our focus on the balance between grain and barrel with an emphasis on malty , fruity, and baking spice characteristics. Lot 40 was the brainchild of Mike Booth at Hiram Walker. Mike wanted to pay homage to his family's distilling heritage, and so named this 100% rye grain Canadian whisky for the plot of land where his family set up their distillery. The mashbill consists of both malted and unmalted rye. It is a recreation of a legendary Canadian Whisky Guild whisky.
