Romero and Harris aren't the surnames you would expect to find in the heart of Beaujolais. This Domaine was first created in 1642, and is now under the guidance of Antoine Romero and an Australian Japanese couple passionate about vines and wine: Yuko and Bob Harris. The partner's Beaujolais vineyards and wines are in the process of being certified organic. Vinified with natural yeasts and without sulphur. Thanks to the group's skill and care, Domaine De Boischampt has joined the ranks of Lapierre, Sylvain Martel and Anne Sophie Dubois with the concentration and refinement of these wines.

A Classic Beaujolais for Autumn!
Anne-Sophie Dubois is a young dynamic winemaker situated in the cru of Fleurie, Beaujolais. Her family moved from Champagne, where they were previously winemakers, to Beaujolais in 1992 and purchased a Domain. At 23 years old, Anne Sophie took over the Domaine in 2006. Since then, she has converted all her vineyards to organic and is currently 2 years away from getting her vineyards certified organic. In the cellar, she works with a minimal intervention approach. She uses a gravity-fed system with no chemicals other than a small addition of sulphur before bottling. She ages all of her wine in oak, stating:
“I am very attached to the ageing of my wines in barrel, but not to bring a woody taste. I love this material. The wood is natural, the wine breathes through it, it comes out clear and open.”
She also happens to be an artist, the beautiful labels are hers as well.

Marcel lapierre took over his father's vineyard in 1973, and started to challenge the norm. His mentor, Jules Chauvet was one of (if not) the first person to speak out about natural wine; a style of wine that is honest and true to what nature intended. With Lapierre joining Chauvet, his winery is one of the biggest names known to the natural wine world. Unfortunatley Marcel passed in 2010, but his son Mathieu and daughter Camille carry on his legacy, producing natural and delicious Beaujolais. This Morgon is one of their flagship wines. This branch of the Dagueneau family, headed by father Serge, is based in Saint Andelain and owns 19 hectares of old vineyards across several of the prime sites of the Pouilly Fumé appellation, including three hectares in the nearby appellation of Cotes de la Charite. Today, the estate is run by Serge's daughter Valerie, cousin of the late Didier Dagueneau, with help in the vineyard from Serge. Meinklang Graupert Pinot Gris

Made from biodynamic (organic) Pinot Gris grapes, the wine is aptly named 'Graupert' which translates to 'tangled' or 'wild', referring to the vines which are allowed to grow free and wild. Free-growing vines produce bunches with smaller grapes with less juice and thicker skins. This produces greater aromas, gives extra layers of complexity to the wine and even gives the wine its darker colour. This is not your usual Pinot Gris. Look for honey, pear and almond on the nose and a buttery, creamy texture with lively acidity, and fruity, mineral weight on the palate. Great with poultry, rabbit, port or vegetarian meals.

"Jacques Lassaigne is a 4.7-hectare family vineyard located in Montgueux. The vineyards boast prime southeastern exposure and consist entirely of Chardonnay. The Montgueux vineyard sites were originally held for the Montrachet of Champagne and are located near the gates of Troyes—the former capital of Champagne. This area is technically part of the Aube department, but is much further north than what people typically think of as the Aube, in the Cote des bars which features wines often primarily made from Pinot Meunier. The terroir in Montgueux is nearly identical to the growing sites found further north in le Mesnil, as they share the same limestone vein —this is exceptional terroir for making great champagne. An intense backbone of acidity is often present in these wines, but since it is located further south than the storied Cotes des blancs, ripening is not as much of an issue. The non-vintage Blanc de Blancs is a blend of nine different vineyard sites & two successive vintages."
