$134.99

Produced from what the distiller feels are the hand-selected best casks in the warehouse. Bottled at 51.5% and non-chill-filtered the Victoriana is currently the top of the line in the Glen Scotia range, it has a prominent smokiness. Cadenhead Original Ardmore 11 Year

$81.19

70% Marsala, 30% Bourbon casking here. Should be a pretty comfy fit for this smoky Highland malt.

Producer Note: "Smoky, as anyone familiar with Ardmore would expect, is supplemented by a saltiness and some fruity notes (jack fruit, orange skin). The taste and finish are juicy and overall this dram is an excellent example of a whisky matured in ex-Marsala casks."

Natural colour, non-chill-filtered, and bottled at 46% abv.

Whisky Sponge Saillt Mor 2014 Ed.73A

$264.99

Producer Note: "We are always on the lookout for new and interesting single malts. This whisky from German distiller Ralf Hauer really impressed us with its power, purity and vivid peat flavours. German whisky with a decidedly Scottish accent. This was distilled in 2014 and filled into 1st fill bourbon barrels where it was matured for 8 years in Germany before transferring to the UK for bottling. We bottled this with a few degrees reduction to 57.1% to help the distillate character shine loud and clear. Edition 73A was distilled using peated malt and presents a beautifully rugged and pure take on peat flavour, with breads, spices and smoky / salty notes in abundance."

230 Bottles. Natural colour, non-chill filtered, and bottled at 57.1% abv.

Whisky Sponge Saillt Mor 2014 Ed.73B

Edition 73B was made using beechwood smoked German malt. It shows off a deeply herbal and medicinal style of smokiness with plenty of power and complexity as well."

Whisky Sponge Inchgower 2001 Ed.71

$329.99

Matured in a Refill Hogshead, filled in 2001, this 21 year old Inchgower has been bottled at 48.9%.

Producer Note

"A charming, sophisticated and deeply philosophical single cask of 2001 Inchgower. Aged for 21 years in a single refill hogshead before bottling at natural cask strength. This is a lovely dram which displays many of the gently old school, distillate-forward attributes which are often overlooked about Inchgower as a whisky. Expect soft waxes, green and yellow fruity flavours and an all round, general thought-provoking nature which will motivate you to ponder some of the deepest and most ancient questions of sentient humankind. Such as: why do I care so much about scores? Who keeps outbidding me at auction? Why am I not happy despite being financially comfortable enough to enjoy malt whisky as a hobby? And, what would it be like to taste whisky on Pluto? Purchasing and consuming one of these bottles will bring you the answer to all these questions, along with unquantifiable satisfaction and a general sense of cosmic serenity - like a nice, comfy sock floating in deep space..."

Whisky Sponge Ben Nevis 1996 Ed.58A

$342.99

1996 Ben Nevis has a legendary reputation, and it is becoming increasingly scarce. This 25 year old, from a Refill Butt, has been bottled at 53%. It is described as being very distillate driven.

Producer Note

"This is a hyper-distillate driven, almost ideologically 'refill' profile Ben Nevis 1996. You have been warned! However, for those of you who also enjoy this extremely pure, naked and invigorating style of highland malt whisky - you shall find yourself contorted with satisfaction. For this edition, the Sponge interviews his older self about his successes, failures and unrequited vengeances. You'll have to wait until next year, when we bottle the other half of this cask, to find out what his answers are... The first half of this stark-naked refill butt has been bottled reduced to 53% to bring out a slightly fruitier style on the palate. Next year we will likely do the rest at cask strength. If civilisation remains moderately intact. Stay tuned..."

Whisky Sponge Islay 1990 Ed. No.61

$934.99

This whisky must be purchased with another Decadent Drinks bottling, see below for more details!*

The distillery is supposed to be a secret, but we are very confident that it is in fact Laphroaig... Distilled in 1990, the whisky was matured in a Refill Barrel for 31 years, before bottling at 51%. 92.75pts Whiskybase & 92pts Whiskyfun

Bottler Note

"Whisky Sponge Edition No.61 is a single refill barrel of 1990 Islay Single Malt. Featuring a slightly more thoughtful label themed around memory, family and the future, this is probably as close as we'll get to bottling named whisky from 'that' particular southern Islay distillery. We opted to bottle this cask at natural cask strength as we felt it was just perfect as it came from the wood. Wonderfully fresh, coastal and peaty with tang of green and exotic fruits in the mix that hark back to a slightly older style example of this great Islay make."

*Everyone wants the old Islay and Springbank bottlings, but we have to purchase the range to get them. If you would like to purchase the Islay 1990, please place your order with another Decadent Drinks Bottling (Equinox & Solstice, NAS, or Sponge) bottling. Any order placed without a pairing will be cancelled!

Whisky Sponge Old Rhosdhu 1993 Ed. No.67

$559.99

Distilled at the Loch Lomond Distillery, this 29 year old, Old Rhosdhu, was matured in a Refill Hogsheads before bottling at 57.1%.

Producer Note

"Step into the petrified brain of the Sponge, from which only Old Rhosdhu can grow... Or in this case, specifically, a 1993 refill hogshead of Old Rhosdhu, distilled at Loch Lomond distillery in their famously confusing still room. It was aged for 29 years (almost 30 dammit!) and bottled with around 2 degrees reduction to 57.1% (100° proof in Brexlish). We deliberately did this because it made everything just that bit more fruity and exotic, and as you very well know, Old Rhosdhu is all about weird, pulpy, overripe, gungy, funky exotic fruits all smooshed up into a slurry and aged in a damp hessian sack with a fistful of mottled old thruppeny bits. The kind of fruits you wouldn't dream of putting anywhere near your mouth in real, physical life, but in whisky form are actually scrumdiddlyumptious. Anyway, we sent a LOT of emails to make this whisky get into glass bottles and eventually into a storage location from which we can facilitate its dispatch to YOU, our noble and coveted consumer. As such we hope you enjoy this luscious fluid. Please buy generously."

Whisky Sponge Ledaig 2005 Ed. No.70

$519.99

This 17 year old Ledaig (heavily peated Tobermory) was distilled in 2005, and matured in a rather active 2nd Fill Sherry Butt. Bottled at 62.1%. 89.38pts Whiskybase

Producer Note

"Every so often we try some casks and think ‘we just absolutely have to bottle this!’. This 2005 Ledaig was one such occasion. Comprised of two 2nd fill sherry butts of 2005 Lediag that were clearly still very active and had matured in warehouse conditions which had delivered a highly concentrative maturation profile resulting in very low levels of whisky remaining in cask, at naturally very high strengths. The resulting whisky displayed such an intense and pure expression of sherry and peat we were instantly reminded of some of the great 1972 Ledaigs from sherry casks."
