Producer Note: "We are always on the lookout for new and interesting single malts. This whisky from German distiller Ralf Hauer really impressed us with its power, purity and vivid peat flavours. German whisky with a decidedly Scottish accent. This was distilled in 2014 and filled into 1st fill bourbon barrels where it was matured for 8 years in Germany before transferring to the UK for bottling. We bottled this with a few degrees reduction to 57.1% to help the distillate character shine loud and clear. Edition 73B was made using beechwood smoked German malt. It shows off a deeply herbal and medicinal style of smokiness with plenty of power and complexity as well."

The 3rd batch of Slyrs German single malt from That Boutique-y Whisky Company was bottled at 52.6% after maturing 3 years in a "crocodile toast" virgin American oak cask.
Producer Description
"This, our second batch is another 3 Year Old and hails from a new American oak cask, to the heaviest char available, also known as ‘Crocodile Toast’ as the inside of the cask is charred so deep that it resembles the cracked skin of a crocodile. Our first batch from this Bavarian distillery was awarded a Gold medal at The Spirit Business World Whisky Masters, and has always surprised people when told; where it’s from, and how old it is."
About the Label
"Our label features a scene from a Bavarian beer festival, in October, or Oktoberfest if you will. That’s Slyrs’ head distiller Hans with the whisky glasses, and you might recognise the punter with a bottle of this bottling asking him a question."
