North Star Campbeltown Connection 10Year
$121.99
Evan deserves the credit for sleuthing out this new KWM exclusive Campbeltown Blended Malt. We tried a sample early in the fall, and were suitably impressed by it for the price. 10 years of age and 50.7%.
If the rumours can be believed, the whisky is a marriage of Springbank from 1994 and 2015, with Glen Scotia from 1992. But true to form the chap at North Star Spirits has little to say about it on the record, the official product description "Our own mix of Springbank, Glen Scotia, and other Campbeltown Malts" seemingly raises more questions than it answers.
But perhaps this is a time to not look the proverbial gift horse in the mouth. We have here a 10 year old Campbeltown Blended Malt at just over 50%, with a beautiful label, and the price is very reasonable!

"Each of the releases in our series takes inspiration from one of the many of saints and mythical beasts carved into the face of the cross. To bring these to life in a truly breathtaking way, we have partnered with esteemed artist, Joel Holzman (Lucasfilm, Marvel, Disney and more), to produce the design that adorns the packaging for the series. It’s a challenge that he has fully embraced.
"“I’ve always had a fascination with ancient times, traditions and beliefs. Getting to know the story of this project was inspiring.”"

About the Gauldrons
"As you step onto The Gauldrons’ fine, clean sand, you also step back in time. Over yonder is where a spider building his web - with great patience but great difficulty - inspired King Robert the Bruce to try, try and try again, having been defeated by his enemies. All around you can sense the ghosts of the long lost Distilleries that once proudly proclaimed Campbeltown “Scotland’s Whisky capital”. The Gauldrons takes you down the long and winding road, over moorland and through now abandoned villages, to one of the most isolated Whisky outposts in the world. All but surrounded by the ocean, the air here is heavy with sea mist and infused with the whim blossom that brightens the landscape."
