Sometimes (most times) 40% ABV gin just isn't enough. You don't want it to get lost in the tonic, after all! That is why we all need a navy strength gin. Botanicals used in the Legbiter Gin include Pink Peppercorn, Hibiscus, Coriander, Angelica, Almond, Liquorice, Cassia, Orris, and, of course, Juniper. Bottled at a robust 57% ABV.
Beinn An Turic Distillery is located on Lephincorrach Farm, about 12 miles north of Campbeltown. It was established in 2016.

"A navy strength gin, bottled at 57% ABV, Tarbert Legbiter packs a punch but this aromatic spirit is wonderfully smooth and flavoursome. The nose is light with delicate floral notes, warming into gentle spice and pine aromas.
We named our navy strength spirit after a Kintyre Legend – Magnus Barelegs, King of Norway in 1093, who claimed Kintyre as his own by circumnavigating the peninsula. He refused to let the isthmus at Tarbert ruin his plan – he simply had his boat dragged across and declared Kintyre an island. Legbiter was the name of his sword and is a fitting moniker for our navy strength gin."

To mark the re-opening of Glengyle Distillery in 2004, six casks from the initial spirit run were stored away with the intention bottling them to celebrate the 10th anniversary in 2014. The whiskies are all 10 years of age, and bottled at 46%, matured in the following cask types: Oloroso Wood, Madeira Wood, Fino Wood, Rum Wood, Bourbon Wood, & Port Wood.
These sets were initially sold as futures and were not made available for retail sale. The sets are a unique opportunity to sample the same spirit matured in six different cask types. As an added bonus

Producer Tasting Note
Nose: Incredibly complex. Sweet with notes of malt and cereal at ï¬Ârst, giving way to rich, ripe fruits, soft peaches and orange marmalade. A drop of water brings out butterscotch and pears.
Palate: The sweetness from the nose is still very much in evidence. A full-bodied whisky with honey, marzipan and nougat to the fore. A little bit of vanilla ice cream and rhubarb sweets develop over time.
Finish: Rich, sweet, fruity, oily and very well balanced.
