Toni Jost Bacharacher Trocken
$29.99
Toni Jost's grapes grow on steep slopes in the narrow valley of the Rhine. The northern location allows the grapes to ripen slowly. Unique Rieslings and Pinot Noirs grow here on slate soil. The manual work, minimally supported by special machines, is simply a reality on such steep vineyard sites and the wines express the work and care that goes into making them. The vineyards are located on both sides of the Rhine, in the Middle Rhine Valley and in the Rheingau. In Bacharach on the Middle Rhine, the family has been growing Rieslings here since 1831. Seven generations of the Jost family have laid the foundation for some of the best wines produced in the Mittlerhein and Rheingau.
Drouhin Oregon Cloudline P Noir
$33.99
Part of the Joseph Drouhin empire, Cloudine is an "affordable" Pinot Noir made from grapes grown in Oregon. It exhibits a fine balance of bright red-berry flavors and strong, soft tannins. It's fresh and lively now, but give it another six months and some of its sharper angles will have rounded out nicely.
Charlevoix Dominus Vobiscum Double
$9.29
Pours a very deep, almost brown, clear amber with a thick tan head. Head is creamy and leaves lots of lacing. Aroma is sweet with tart and dried fruit, lots of spice, yeast, and clove.
Lamadrid Malbec Gran Reserva
$34.99
Guillermo García Lamadrid began this project in 2004 by opening the door to wine growing in Argentina, from the lands of Agrelo in Luján de Cuyo, one of the first regions in Argentina to embrace Malbec. He partnered with winemaker Pablo Durigutti to produce a range of wines that run the gamut from good value to single vineyard examples from their oldest vineyard sites.
People love this wine! Deeply rooted in the mineralized soils of Agrelo, nourished by the pure water of the Andes Mountain Range, and embraced by the unique sun exposure of this corner of Argentina Lamadrid is a unique partnership. Guillermo Garcia Lamadrid and Hector Durigutti, master winemaker and general manager, have developed a close working relationship and partnership crucial for the success of the Lamadrid brand. Excellent nose of spice box, mineral, black cherry, and blueberry. Medium to full-bodied, it has excellent richness and depth, succulent fruit, and superior length, considering the price. Goes well with grilled meats and roasts.
Rombauer Carneros Chardonnay
$69.99
Delicious and easy to drink, from one of the finest producers out there! Here's what Robert Parker's Wine Advocate has to say about the 2015 vintage: "a straightforward, fruity Chardonnay with some lemon blossom, moderate citrus fruit, decent purity and balance, but nothing special. Drink it over the next 2-3 years."
Lamadrid Malbec Matilde
$79.99
Hector and Pablo Durigutti were born in Mendoza, the cradle of Argentinian wine and were raised together. Their childhood and their home were always connected to a sensorial world, with aromas, ingredients and flavours that, over time, motivated them to choose the path to become enologists. As adults, they would find these familiar memories and similar passions. In 2002 they dedicated their efforts to the creation of a small family winey. Today the brothers have evolved to form a new generation of winemakers, leading an evolutionary change in Argentina’s viticulture. Their range includes the value-driven Abeja wines and the upper-tier Las Compuertas offerings produced from the oldest vineyard sites.
Matilde is the flagship wine of this up-and-coming Argentine venture and precious little is produced. Sourced from the same estate vineyard with vines dating back to 1929, Matilde spends 24 months in new French oak. This loaded effort displays more obvious (but well-integrated) oak. This is an unctuous and silky red with a long finish. In the nose, aromas of vanilla, white chocolate, mocha, and tobacco combine with ripened fruit, blackcurrant, and plum. Food pairings? Big red meats!

Big Peat
$97.99
The Big Peat Blended Malt Scotch was featured on Day 5 of our 2022 KWM Whisky Calendar. You can find the blog post here
50ml / mini bottles of Big Peat can be found here
The Big Peat makes one promise: 'peat." Vatted from single malts distilled at Ardbeg, Bowmore, Caol Ila and Port Ellen. What more could you ask for? This whisky may be made with Bowmore and Caol Ila, but it is its Ardbeg which is most dominant. Given that Port Ellen has been closed for 35 years, and any whisky from that distillery is now very mature, even the addition of only a small amount is very special. Earthy, chocolaty, salty, smoky, peaty and lightly medicinal. This whisky truly is Islay in a bottle. 46%.
