"This year, the whisky has been chosen by our distillery manager Gordon. Gordon waved goodbye to one of Scotland’s whisky giants back in 2017, and made his way even further up the west coast to Morvern to lead our whisky production. Since then Gordon has been passing on his years of experience to our growing team of distillers, helping shape our team and our spirit as we know it today. He is so at home on the west coast that he is rarely seen wearing more than a t-shirt, even in winter! Gordon believes that a great whisky should leave your mouth looking for more, and this delicious combination of STR red wine, ex-sherry and ex-Rivesaltes casks certainly does just that. It’s velvety, rich, and creamy."

Orchard Cobbler is the 3rd release in Nc'nean's experimental Huntress range. The whisky was botled at 48.5% from spirit matured in STR (66%), ex-Bourbon (31%), and Oloroso Sherry (3%) casks.

"Introducing Orchard Cobbler, the third release in our boundary-pushing and experimental Huntress series. Truly a one-of-a-kind limited edition whisky, in that the spirit used is only produced once a year when the distillers cross over from one distillation recipe to another. We find we can taste delicious flavours of Cherry Bakewell, apricot marmalade and vanilla custard, with a side of peppermint tea.
"Unlike most distilleries, we run two different spirit runs each year, one for whisky set to be released at a younger age, and one set to be released after ten plus years. The spirit matured for Huntress Orchard Cobbler comes from the distillation in the week after this spirit recipe is switched over - a time where cut points are changed and unusually high fruity compounds flood into the spirit. So fruity, that the whisky is named after one of the team’s favourite desserts. "

The quiet rebels are the hardworking folk who make Nc'nean, and Amy is the distillery's Head of Sustainability. The whisky has been bottled at 48.5% after maturing in STR (63%), ex-Bourbon (18%), and ex-Maury (19%) casks.

"This year’s Quiet Rebels release has Head of Sustainability, Amy, at the helm. It’s moreish, creamy, jammy and absolutely delicious. Quiet Rebels Amy includes whisky finished in ex-Maury casks from a small organic vineyard in France who produce a fortified wine that is made in a similar way to port. The 60 year old vines are maintained with a variety of sustainable farming methods including agroforestry which involves integrating frees amongst the vines to improve soil richness. The farm also follows the biodynamic principles such as following the lunar calendar which several studies show is an effective way to determine the best time to plant and harvest crops. These ex-Maury casks have been blended with Nc’nean’s house style STR red wine and ex-Bourbon casks to create Amy’s dream bottling.

"This spirit is the cask strength expression of our signature recipe, our organic single malt in its most natural form. Our whisky is made from organic Scottish barley whose natural yields and rich soils contribute depth of flavour. Matured in specially treated red wine and American whiskey barrels alongside a small amount of sherry casks to develop our trademark body and sweetness."

Nc'nean is one of the most fascinating distilleries going. Net zero carbon emission, entirely organic, socially aware, and now with legit 'of age' whisky. This core range single malt was matured in a mix of red wine, Oloroso sherry, and ex-American whiskey casks (we assume that means not ex-Bourbon, but don't quote us).
Natural colour, non-chill filtered, and bottled at 46% abv.
