Nose: Delicate and floral with aromas of acacia honey, vanilla, wholemeal toast and mellow wood spices.
Palate: Sweet and honeyed with layers of crème caramel and toasted almond with highlights of lemon zest and a grassy freshness.
Finish: Notes of buttery oak, citrus peels fading into a mellow cake spice linger.

Cognac Cask Finish. Might be intriguing! Shame about the 40%, though. These accountant-strength bottlings that Tomintoul and owners Angus Dundee seem to be enamoured with could use a slight shift upwards. No need to make "The Gentle Dram" too gentle.

Tomintoul Peaty Tang is made from a combination of unpeated Tomintoul malt and heavily peated Ballantruan malt also produced at Tomintoul. The result is a Speyside single malt with soft, approachable peat and smoke.

Established in 1825 Glencadam distillery has been slowly swallowed over the succeeding 200 years by the town of Brechin. Most of the distillery's production is destined for blends, but its core range, predominantly matured in American oak, is very good. This malt punches well above its weight!
