Amrut led the way, making headlines for its tremendous quality. Next came Paul John, with its rich, barley-driven style. Joining those two well-regarded whiskies is Rampur.
The Rampur Asava Indian Single Malt Whisky is matured in ex-Bourbon Barrels, then finished in casks that previously held Indian wine made the Cabernet Sauvignon grape. The result is bottled at 45% ABV.

The Himalayas provide polar opposite of climate conditions throughout the year with the flavor of the famous Indian Summer giving Rampur an added dimension and depth."

Producer Tasting Note
Nose: Typical tropical fruity note of Rampur with added notes of apricot, blackberry & plum followed with a faint hint of tobacco and spices.
Palate: Velvety, manuka honey sweetness highlighted by spicy oak, vanilla and balanced with dryness from Indian red wine.
Finish: The Indian trail lingers with a medium finish. Tantalizingly long, lingering and generous.

Matured in Refill Sherry Casks before finishing in First Fill Sherry Casks, this Taiwanese single malt is bottled at 40%.

Finally, back at a bottling strength that suits this Indian flavour bomb! For the last couple years, we've only had access to the 46%er. That was still good whisky, of course, but this is next level. As soon as we saw it was back in the province, we had to jump.
This spirit starts its life in ex-Bourbon, before being re-racked into Sherry casks, then put back into ex-Bourbon to finish maturing. They like to refer to it as sandwich maturation. In this case...a spicy jam sandwich. Delish!

"Fino, Spanish for 'Fine', is the driest and palest of all varieties of traditional sherry wine. Traditional Fino wine is usually dry and is best consumed shortly after the bottle is opened in order to avoid losing its flavour. Kavalan's Fino, matured in the finest Fino Sherry butts, however, provides mild sweetness that excites the palate."
