Black Tot The Last Consignment Rum
$1,599.99
Up until 1970, the British Royal Navy had a tradition of serving rum rations to crew aboard their ships. This Black Tot Rum is a blend of Caribbean rums from the last consignment produced for the Royal Navy, which was stored in flagons for decades before being vatted and rebottled by Elixir Distillers starting in 2010. Bottled at 54.3% ABV. 89pts Whisky Fun
From The Producer
"Black Tot Last Consignment is a piece of liquid history. It was bottled from antique stone flagons containing the last stocks of Royal Navy Rum which laid untouched for over four decades. The naval blend of rums such as this one had continually evolved for over 100 years, with much of it coming from distilleries long since lost."
Black Tot Master Blenders Reserve 2024
$234.99
54.5% ABV
The 2024 edition of the Black Tot Master Blender's Reserve is Barbados (60%) heavy, with a high proportion of rums from Trinidad (25%) too. The full blend can be found below! 54.5%
Producer Description
"This year our Master Blender, Oliver Chilton, has included a higher percentage of Barbadian rums to accentuate the rich tropical fruits in the blend. As always, he has looked to put his own spin on the blend, this year including a 1997 rum from Trinidad’s lost distillery Caroni. Re-imagining the lost art of naval perpetual blending; he began with rum drawn from Master Blender’s Reserve from last year. Casks were then selected from Barbados, Trinidad, Guyana and Jamaica. These four unique country blends were then married together with our perpetual reserve, layered and perfectly balanced, to bring you Master Blender’s Reserve 2024. As always, flagons of original Royal Navy Rum are added to the blend to keep the liquid history alive."

Producer Description
"Black Tot Historic Solera is a decadent and elegant rum which has been aged in oak barrels that have been seasoned with Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso Sherries, before being further aged through a traditional 3-tier Solera process. Solera’s magic lies in blending rums of various ages. The younger rum interacts with the concentrated essence of older expressions, acquiring richer characteristics with each step. Pusser`s Gunpowder Proof Rum 54.5%
$40.99
Pusser's Navy Rumm bottled at 54.5%.
From The Producer
"Pusser’s ‘Gunpowder Proof’ is a traditional Royal Navy style rum produced at original Admiralty strength and in accordance with the Admiralty’s blending recipe last used when the Royal Navy discontinued its daily ration on 31 July 1970.
Gunpowder Proof: Prior to the invention of the hydrometer, the Royal Navy ship’s “Pusser” shutdown claims of watering down sailors’ daily tots by dousing a bit of gunpowder in the rum and attempting to light. If the mixture ignited, the rum was “at proof.” If it didn’t, the Pusser might find himself tossed to sea.
Pusser’s Rum is the only rum blended in exact accordance with the Royal Navy specifications last used when it discontinued its daily ration on July 31, 1970—ending a tradition that lasted over 300 years. Aged for a minimum of three years, this Admiralty rum blend is rich and full-bodied, with an unsurpassed smoothness due to its wooden “pot stilled” lineage."
Black Tot Master Blenders Reserve 2023
$179.99
54.5% ABV
From The Producer
"Black Tot Day 2022 marks the third iteration of our annual Master Blender’s Reserve, an ever-evolving perpetual blend crafted by our Master Blender, Oliver Chilton.
For this year’s blend, we drew inspiration from historical rums in our collection and the unique flavour profiles they exhibited over half a century ago. These rums, since lost in the rum world, were rich with notes of baked banana, dusty chocolate, mocha milkshakes, honey, tobacco, leather, liquorice, and spice. These flavours were mapped out and became our guide."
