This lovely little Linkwood was distilled in 2010, maturing 13 years in an ex-Bourbon Hogshead cask before bottling at 56.8% exclusively for KWM. We weren't looking for another Linkwood cask for the store when we picked this one, but we couldn't turn it down. Bottled 20 days shy of its 14th birthday, it has taken nearly a year to come home, and we are thrilled it is finally here. 295 Bottles.

This is a game-changing whisky from Compass Box, built not from acquired aged components, but rather new make spirit acquired and filled into Compass Box own casks. Orchard House is composed of primarily Linkwood (39%), Clynelish (29%), Benrinnes (20%) and Caol Ila (2%), all from First Fill ex-Boubon Barrels, along with Highland Blended Malt (2%) from custom French oak casks and a secret Speyside single malt (8%) from Revatted Oloroso Sherry-Seasoned Butts. Hmmm, a "Distillery near the town of Aberlour" sounds a lot like Benfarclas... 46%.

Part of a massive 42 bottle collection of whiskies, wherein each release represents a character from Shakespeare's MacBeth.
Linkwood is a 'top dressing' malt. Roughly translated, that means 'hella good'. Actually, it means that blenders covet this rich and vibrant malt for their blends because it has an incredible fruity, and sometimes floral, profile. This 31-year-old was matured in American Oak Refill Bourbon Barrels. 89.79pts on Whiskybase
