Held back for an additional five months, this cask has evolved dramatically, delivering a profile that echoes a complex, high-proof American Bourbon while retaining a smooth, Irish Pot Still texture. It’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser with a flavour journey you must taste to believe."
Kilchoman 10yr 100% Islay sinDicate Cask
$194.99
This 10 year old Kilchoman 100% Islay single cask was selected by and bottled for The sinDicate, a Calgary whisky club. The 2015 vintage whisky was matured in an ex-Bourbon Barrel, cask 15/334, before bottling at 56.8%. The club took most of the 231 bottles, but KWM has the honour of selling the remaining quarter of the cask.
SCN Williamson 9 Year KWM Cask
$134.99
Our first KWM single cask of Laphroaig single malt, bottled as Williamson, is a 2015 vintage 9 year old finished for 3 years in a 2nd Fill PX Sherry Hogshead before bottling at 57.4%. We did bottle an A.D. Rattray Williamson cask roughly 8-10 years ago, but it was a tea-spooned Blended Malt. This is a sweet, dirty, sherried, and rather drinkable Laphroaig!
Boutique-y Aberlour 9 Year Old 50ml
$23.99
This mini bottle from That Boutique-y Whisky Company was featured on Day 19 of our 2021 KWM Whisky Calendar
This is the 6th Batch of Aberlour was bottled released by That Boutique-y Whisky Company in 2018. It was bottled at 9 years old and at 49.7%. 3080 of the company's standard 500ml bottles were made in total. Though you cannot tell by the colour of the whisky alone, this bottling of Aberlour sure looks like it could be a lot less sherried than the official releases we see from the distillery.... Interesting.
About The Label
"The label on our Aberlour bottling features the Mash Tun whisky bar in Aberlour - though who’s that nervous fellow peeking out of the window?"
Jura Perspective No.1 16 Year

Thompson Bros. Glen Garioch 27 Year
$319.99
We are on always on the hunt for value, and a 27 year old Glen Garioch at 49.3% for just a tad over $300 fits the bill! This 1998 vintage Glen Garioch was supposedly matured in an oloroso sherry cask, but when the chaps at Thompson Bros. nosed it, they were pretty confident it was actually a Fino Sherry cask. Based on references in the tasting note, they might be right. Exclusive to KWM in Canada!
Producer Description
"We recently received a butt of Glen Garioch 1998, purchased blind based on the outstanding quality of previous casks from this vintage and with confidence, as the purchase order specified a 1st fill sherry butt. However, upon arrival and during our routine sensory analysis (someone's gotta do it), it became immediately apparent from visual assessment that this was not typical of 1st fill oloroso or px sherry, as we had initially expected. Instead, the spirit presented pronounced saline notes, followed by chamomile and fresh bread dough - characteristics that strongly suggest this cask is, in fact, a 1st fill fino sherry butt. We are now highly confident in that conclusion. the combination of distillate, time and oak interplay beautifully here. The nature of buying blind can be a bit risky, but very often those risks pay off in very interesting ways."
North Star Campbeltown Connection 10Year
$121.99
Evan deserves the credit for sleuthing out this new KWM exclusive Campbeltown Blended Malt. We tried a sample early in the fall, and were suitably impressed by it for the price. 10 years of age and 50.7%.
If the rumours can be believed, the whisky is a marriage of Springbank from 1994 and 2015, with Glen Scotia from 1992. But true to form the chap at North Star Spirits has little to say about it on the record, the official product description "Our own mix of Springbank, Glen Scotia, and other Campbeltown Malts" seemingly raises more questions than it answers.
But perhaps this is a time to not look the proverbial gift horse in the mouth. We have here a 10 year old Campbeltown Blended Malt at just over 50%, with a beautiful label, and the price is very reasonable!
Thompson Bros. Mystery Malt Series 5 SM
$124.99
Mystery Malt Series 5 from Thompson Bros consists of 38 whiskies, ranging in age from 5 to 27 years. They are all single malt Scotch whiskies, bottled at 46.3%, but you won't know which whisky you've got until you take the bottle home and break the foil seal, and lift the cap. You might end up with a Dornoch 5 Year (0.63% chance), a Miltonduff 17 Year (2.23%), a Glen Garioch 27 Year (1.91%), or one of 35 other options. The full list of potential whiskies can be viewed in the tasting note below!
Remember the excitement of opening a pack of hockey cards, or Pokémon cards for you Millennials!? Think of is the adult version of that... but you can drink the contents, and unlike the stale gum, it won't cut the roof of your mouth. We love the concept here, no matter what you get, you'll end up with something cool.
Thompson Bros uses an algorithm to make sure each sealed case is roughly equal, with a comparable mix of six different whiskies. So if you purchase a full sealed case, all six whiskies will be different, a perfect canned range for a club or group tasting.
Use this link for a full sealed case of 6 bottles of Thompson Bros. Mystery Malt Series 5 - this is a $100 savings over purchasing 6 bottles individually, but there are no further discounts available on it.
