Whisky Sponge Tomatin 29 Year Ed. No.82
$724.99
This 1994 Tomatin as matured in a "knackered old" refill sherry hogshead cask for 29 years before bottling at 49.5%. 89.56pts Whiskybase
Producer Desciption
"We’ve been searching for a good cask of Tomatin for a while, and this one offered a very pure and vivid take on this distillery’s inherent fruitiness. Fully matured in a relatively light touch old ex-sherry hogshead, the result is super fresh, fruity and focussed on that mature refill style. Very much our kind of dram and our preferred style of Tomatin.
"Whisky Sponge Edition No.82 is a 29 year old, 1994 Tomatin. It was matured full term in a knackered old refill sherry hogshead and we bottled the resultant fruit salad juice at natural cask strength."
NAS 07 Armagnac 50 Year
$519.99
This 1972 Bas Armagnac from Chateau de Gaube is the last cask of this parcel from Grosperrin's cellars. 44.4% 91pts WhiskyFun
Producer Tasting Note
"This is our seventh bottling of Notable Age Statements and it contains a 1972 single cask of Bas Armagnac from Chateau De Gaube, bottled at natural cask strength and 50 years of age.
This is the sibling cask to our Armagnac Sponge Edition 2 and also the last of these casks in Grosperrin’s cellars. We are in love with this Armagnac, stunningly fresh, vibrant, fruity and still showing amazing potency and richness after so many years in wood. Expect an avalanche of ripe and dried fruits of many shades and variety, along with a whole beehive of honey and a big sloppy smooch of rancio! Fans of 1950s Glen Grant, Strathisla and Linkwood etc... PAY ATTENTION! "

MacNair`s Exploration Rum Jamaica Peated
$104.99
The spirit was produced by the Clarendon Distillery in Jamaica before being transported to GlenAllachie Distillery in Scotland. It was initially filled into a mix of American and French oak casks before finishing in ex-Meikle Toir (peated GlenAllachie) casks. 46%.
Producer Description
"Produced from the highest quality sugar cane grown in Jamaica, at the heart of the Caribbean, this pot still rum has enjoyed a unique maturation journey, having been fully matured at The GlenAllachie Distillery. The spirit was sourced from Southern Jamaica’s Clarendon
Distillery, which lies on one of the oldest sugar cane plantations on the island and is one of only four producers in the country. Renowned for crafting some of the most flavourful and intense rums in the world, Jamaica has been a hub of rum production since the 17th century.
"For this release, our Master Blender Billy Walker sourced high, medium and low ester spirit. Initially filled to a mixture of American and French oak casks at 86% ABV, the rum was left to mature at each ester level for 30 months. The spirit was then reduced to 69% ABV and re-filled to casks which previously held peated GlenAllachie to add a distinctive twist. Using his half-century of experience, Billy then expertly blended the spirit to craft an expression in which the subtle peat smoke and charred cedar wood notes marry perfectly with the Caribbean jerk and ester-fuelled rum."
Macaloney`s Kildara
$101.99
This island whisky is from our triple distilled single potstill range – triple distilled using only the best unmalted and malted barley available. The patient, yet purposeful, triple distillation produces a complex, layered and balanced new-make spirit. Dr. Swan described our original new-make which trickles off our copper pot stills as “the best that I have tasted in any distillery at this stage, super fruity.” This triple-distillate is even smoother and fruitier!
Kildara, our Whiskymaker’s Signature Expression, was married from a select combination of Kentucky Bourbon, Spanish Oloroso, virgin American, and Spanish Pedro Ximénez (PX) casks. The result is a full bodied, triple distilled single potstill, island whisky with pronounced Oloroso and PX notes including dried fruit cake, vanilla crème laced with cinnamon, demerara sugar, and old seasoned leather notes. Abundant tropical fruits include candied orange, dried apricot, figs, ripe blackberries, blackcurrant jam, dried raisins and roasted nuts. The complexity continues with barley, malt and dried hay, butterscotch, milk chocolate, light tobacco and ocean breeze.
The palate is velvety-soft, resplendent with full bodied Sherry and tropical fruit. Oatmeal develops to oak spices, coffee, dark chocolate orange, nectarines, stewed plums, blackcurrant, red currant and sultanas, coming together as sweet dark fruitcake and honey. The finish presents dried fruit with a hint of salt and dulse, lingering oak and more Sherry, ending with hazelnut and almond raspberry pie with a drizzle of dark chocolate.
