Semillon is a quirky white grape that is primarily known for use in Bordeaux white wine, where it is blended with Sauvignon Blanc. This bottle from Moss Wood and other 100% Semillon wines drink quite nicely when young, but also quietly have tremendous aging potential. More than 45 years ago, back in 1977 was the first year that Moss Wood produced a Semillon for commercial use. It was made with no barrel treatment and upon the first year of production was a major head turner. To this day, Moss Wood sticks to only stainless still fermentation for their Semillon.

This Sauvignon is rich with impressive elegance, a continually building array of lime, herbs, stonefruit and elder flower flavors. The structure is concentrated, brightened by fine acids and chalkiness typical to the vineyard.

Johnnie Walker Black Label is at least 12 years old and is light and smokey in style. This iconic blend traces its origins back to 1870 when it was called Old Special Highland Whisky, renamed Johnny Walker Black Label in 1909. The second from entry level expression can be sipped neat of mixed. While the Black Label is comprised of between 35 and 40 individual components, there are five distilleries that are considered its main building blocks. These cornerstones are Talisker, Caol Ila, Cragganmore and Glenkinchie for the malt portion and Cameronbridge for the grain whisky.

Bodegas Protos, from the Greek meaning "first", is named after the completion of the first large, modern wine cellar in the region of Comarca. Made from 100% Tempranillo, this charming red is full and concentrated on the nose with ripe berry and a touch of oak flavours on the palate.
The Tinta del pais (Tempranillo) grapes are harvested from the Burgos and Valladolid vineyards which contain 25+ year old vines. This the baby of the family, a bright, easy-drinking red that spends six months in both French and American oak barrels. It has a Morello cherry core with some blue fruits and a touch of spice.

Known for producing some of the highest quality wine grapes their Cabernet is used in Opus One and their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes are used in Robert Mondavi Reserve wines. Torlesse takes its name from an early Canterbury resident, surveyor and farmer, Englishman Charles Torlesse. He gave his name to the Torlesse mountain range, which part circles the Canterbury Plains and was at one time the largest land owner and farmer in North Canterbury, and founder of the nearby town of Rangiora. Interestingly, the name Torlesse is given to the underlying bedrock from which most New Zealand soils are derived.
