A golden Abbey Ale, strong, spicy, lightly hoppy, with evolving taste. Bottle refermented, unfiltered, not pasteurised and without any additives. The brewery never had a desire to produce copies of existing beers. As a consequence, La Chouffe and Mc Chouffe are distinctive and unique. The use of unusual ingredients such as spices, candy sugar , water from the Cedrogne spring (one of Belgium's highest) make for superb drinking experiences.

Orval Trappist brewery makes only one beer for the general public. It has an intensely aromatic and dry character. Between the first and second fermentations there is also an additional dry-hopping process. Through this process, the beer acquires its pronounced hoppy aroma and extra dry taste. Orval is one of the six Belgian Trappist breweries, a list that includes Westmalle, Westvleteren, Chimay, Rochefort, Orval and Achel. No other breweries are entitled by law to apply that name to their product.. The Notre-Dame d'Orval has a long history of distruction and reconstruction. The single beer they produce is probably the driest of the Trappist ales. They began brewing prior to the French Revolution, but that conflict was among the distructive events of the monestery's history.

Like all the Leffe beers, it is a "connoisseur" beer that's easy to drink. The abbey, Notre Dame de Leffe, was founded in 1152 in southern Belgium. The canons of the abbey brewed ale, and over time developed a unique ale, brewed only at the abbey.

"This is the masterpiece of which I am most proud, as is one of my sons after whom it is named. What makes this traditional kriek special is that it is brewed with whole cherries. Since real Schaerbeek cherries are scarce, Lindemans Brewery has found their perfect equivalence elsewhere in Europe. It is deep red in colour and its foam head is slightly pink.
