"If being the oldest bottling ever by W&M was not enough to make it worthy of a Collector’s Edition, being a rare single hogshead grain whisky certainly would make it so. It’s so old that it becomes much more than whisky: it’s rather an essence, a concentrated balm full of rich aromas and intense emotions. Such a long maturation endowed the whisky with notes of liquorice, mint, wax, old books, leather and a pleasant and not cloying oakiness both at the nose and in the mouth. It’s warm, complex, thought-provoking… but still also incredibly sweet, with echoes of old Demerara rum, cola and a balsamic array of medicinal herbs. Panel's Tasting Note: "Once the largest grain whisky distillery in Scotland, it was closed and dismantled in 1983. Its make was never bottled by its owner and is very rare in indie bottlings. Jaunty for its age: ‘red patent-leather dancing pumps’ came to mind. A school art-room, with poster paint, Gloy glue, ink, vinyl and coated card – all behind vanilla fudge. Sweet and oaky to taste, with vanilla, coconut and light liquorice. With water it became a newly crafted coffin, wax-polished and resinous. A light texture and a short finish, with a hint of Murraymints and strong, lorry-drivers, tea, and condensed milk."

Initially this unusual whisky was exclusive in Alberta to KWM, one of but a few, if not the only Blended Grain Scotch whisky. Composed of older grain whiskies typically aged between 17 to 24 years of age, it is very decadent, hence the name, with a soft and sweet but layered palate!
From the Distillery: "Our bottlings of Hedonism are made from a combination of eight to 15 casks of grain whisky from distilleries such as Cameron Bridge, one of the oldest continuously operating distilleries in Scotland, and Cambus. Most whisky in Hedonism has been aged in first-fill American oak casks. This ageing yields a very special whisky that is full and round with richly textured flavours of vanilla and toffee."
