Clynelish 14 Year
$109.99
Although the current Clynelish distillery was founded in 1967, it's origin can be traced to it's now demolished sister distillery, Brora. Founded in 1819 it was originally known as Clynelish. Interestingly in the 18thC. it was held in such high regard that the whisky was privately sold. Today the majority of Clynelish is destined for blending, with only a small amount for bottling as single malt.
Producer Description
Clynelish whisky is closer to an Island style than other mainland malts, with a complex and fragrant nose and an agreeable, long finish that leaves a lingering fresh-fruity flavour. This 14-year-old is a less heavyweight whisky that's deliciously drinkable and makes it an excellent aperitif.
Ayinger Brau-Wiesse
$5.99
Delicious lemon-scented wheat beer with yeast. This is an aristocratic beer with a champagne sparkle and a beautifully sustained head. Pale in colour, tart in palate, a brut beer. Experience as an aperitif or with your meal.
Torlesse Gewurztraminer
$26.99
Torlesse takes its name from an early Canterbury resident, surveyor and farmer, Englishman Charles Torlesse. He gave his name to the Torlesse mountain range, which partly circles the Canterbury Plains, and was at one time the largest land owner and farmer in North Canterbury and the founder of the nearby town of Rangiora. Interestingly, Torlesse is also the name given to the underlying bedrock from which most New Zealand soils are derived. The Torlesse winery was built and opened in March 2000, but Torlesse has produced wines from 1991 onwards, making it one of the older wineries in Waipara. Most grapes are hand harvested, and the winemaking team is led by owners Ben & Pete Rayner, while Maggie Rayner leads the cellar door team. They have been cultivating and producing excellent wine for over 30 years.
Chimay White Cap 8%
$7.49
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterized by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurized.
Westmalle Tripel
$7.99
Glowing orange-gold colour, herbal aroma, and complex flavors that meld rich malt sweetness, warmth, hops, and powerful drink ability. There are only eight Trappist breweries in the world, six of them in in Belgium. The Belgian ones are Westmalle, Westvleteren, Chimay, Rochefort, Orval and Achel. No other breweries are entitled by law to apply that name to their product.
Einaudi Dolcetto Dogliani
$39.99
Dolcettos are a good value for those who love Italian wines. They're the gentler, softer cousins to Piedmont's better-known (at least in Canada) and pricier Barberas and Barolos. Just like Barolo and Barbera, though, Dolcetto makes great food wines. Luigi Einaudi is the producer behind this label; he has a solid international reputation for high-quality, easy-to-drink red wines.
Taittinger Brut Reserve
$96.99
There's nothing like Champagne to turn an average day into something special. This terrific non-vintage dry Champagne received 90 points from both Robert Parker and Wine Spectator. "Bold fizz. Fresh, vivid and flavorful, offering pencil shavings, peach, citrus and ginger notes on a racy, elegant frame. Really alive and the finish lingers on and on," says Wine Spectator.
Grand Marnier
