Compass Box Celestial
$434.99
This is the fourth and final release in the Compass Box Extinct Blends Quartet, which celebrates - or laments - the blends of decades' past which are no longer available. Celestial draws on peated whisky from Ardbeg and Caol Ila, which are always good malts to build around. Malt from Pulteney and grain from Port Dundas and Cameronbridge are also in the mix along with prior Compass Box blends and other assorted magic, courtesy of Blender James Saxon. Bottled at 51%.
Producer Description
"Our latest and last in the Extinct Blends Quartet Celestial takes to the sky through billowing clouds and glittering constellations, inspired by a whisky from the 1960s with both an extravagant flavour profile and an equine theme. The peatiest of the Extinct Blends Quartet, and our most expansive, Celestial offers a depth of flavour and maturity that has become the series’ hallmark.
Celestial accentuates the smokiness of its forebear, drawing on malt whiskies from the Ardbeg and Caol Ila distilleries, two parcels we previously brought together six years ago for the original No Name."
Ken Wright Chardonnay
$54.99
After 47 years of wine making experience Ken Wright Cellars believes in a simple truth: source is everything. Their approach to the craft of wine growing is one of stewardship rather than manipulation. They use organic certified practices as a base and expand upon that with advanced nutrition-based farming. By analyzing both their soil profile and vines, maintaining proper crop levels, personally sampling each vineyard, and hand-sorting each cluster, they ensure that the inherent character in their fruit is revealed in the finished wine. Minimal handling of wine is essential to preserve what it is; a gift of nature. While Ken Wright is deservedly famous for his excpetional Pinot Noirs the Chardonnay is a revelation; full, rich, minerlally.
Clos Cibonne Tibouren Tradition Rose
$63.99
The heart of Clos Cibonne is their traditional, goblet-trained tibouren, which is believed to be a very old grape variety, originally grown in Mesopotamia, propagated by the Greeks, before being transported by the Romans to Italy in the Liguria region, where it is known as rossese. Tibouren is a very fine, thin-skinned grape which requires a lot of ventilation to be successful and needs to grow close to the ocean, with lots of ventilation to be successful and avoid issues with rot. All of these requirements make Clos Cibonne the perfect terroir for tibouren, as they are walking distance to the ocean and constantly blasted with the drying winds from the mistral. André Roux, the architect of the modern winery, was a great fan of this native variety and understood its potential to be the ideal grape for the region. It is one of the most expressive rose wines on the planet, and is rivalled only by Domaine Tempier in our opinion.
Compass Box Nectarosity
$104.99
Not happy to rest on their laurels as one of the best blended whisky creators on the planet, Compass Box now seems to be getting into the business of creating words. Compass Box Nectarosity's core is built around seasoning American Oak barrels with grain whisky for a period of maturing and then filling them once more with Malt Whisky. After the malt component matures, it is blended with the original grain whisky component, and the Nectarosity blend is born.
That is the short version - there is more Compass Box magic that goes into creating Nectarosity than just these two core components. You can check out more info below. Bottled at 46% ABV.
From The Producer
"Nectarosity contains casks that we’ve been experimenting with for the last seven years. These casks are special American oak barrels that are deployed twice. First to impart sweet spice to grain spirit for one year, which finishes maturing in other casks; this becomes our parcel of grain whisky from The Girvan Distillery in the composition. Once 'prepared', the barrels age malt whisky from The Clynelish Distillery, bringing grilled apples, nutmeg and maple syrup to the party. We take these two characterful whiskies, blending them with select others to really dial up the juicy fruit and vibrant toffee notes."

Annex Hell Bent German Lager
$18.99
From the Brewery
"Hell Bent | German Lager 4.5% ABV
We went all in with this one. German malt, German hops, and a pinch of German brewing technique make for a true-to-tradition German Pils. Crisp and balanced with brilliant clarity and a soft golden colour, Hell Bent has the clean, snappy finish you want from a Pils, with just enough character to keep things interesting.
Notes of toasted graham cracker and a woody nuttiness from the Rauchmalt are all brought together by a final hop addition."
Kleinood Tamboerskloof Syrah
$63.99
Kleinood is a small farm with just twelve hectares of arable land. Of these, ten hectares are devoted to vines, with the remaining two under olive trees. The rest of the farm is left wild or planted with fynbos, roses and vegetables. In the year 2000 the small farm, that was to become Kleinood, was very different from what it is now. Although its inherent natural beauty and charm was always there, it was, sadly, just a run-down and neglected little fruit farm in a beautiful valley against a backdrop of majestic mountains and a river running through it. Over time it has become a personal and highly individual project where no effort was spared in striving to produce a thing of excellence and beauty underpinned with a simple and holistic philosophy dedicated to exploring, and developing while using the full potential of the farm and human skills to produce the best Kleinood is capable of.
