Boutique-y Helsinki Rye Bt. 2 6 Year

The second batch of Helsinki Distilling Rye bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company was made from a mash of 70% Rye and 30% malt, and matured 6 years in virgin American oak before bottling at 58.9%.

"Our second batch from Finland’s Helsinki distillery is a 6 Year Old rye whisky, from 70% malted rye, and 30% malted barley mashbill. It’s been matured for full term in a new, charred, (char level 3) American oak cask. Low year round temperatures in Helsinki year round leads to a slower interaction with wood. This presents a preferable situation for maturation in powerful, first fill casks."
About the Label
"Our label shows the distillery in one of its former guises; a car wash. The Monopoly cars are a reference to the strict Finnish alcohol monopoly ‘Alko’."

A very rare and usual Calvados bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Co. for their 10th Birthday. 21 years old and 41.5%.
Producer Description
"We’d like to take this opportunity to introduce you to That Boutique-y Brandy/Calvados Company with this 21 Year Old Calvados. This is a particularly intriguing Calvados from Christian Drouin. The story for this one begins at the very end of the year 2000, when the spirit was distilled. Distilled under Appellation Calvados Pays D’Auge Contrôlée, meaning the ciders may contain a maximum of 30% perry pears, and pot still distillation is mandatory. A sherry cask full of the spirit was sent over to Bristol for maturation (similar to how some Cognac is "early landed"). This is a real treat for any Calvados aficionado, one of only eight ‘'early landed' casks ever to be produced. Since that time, laws have changed meaning Calvados can no longer be aged outside of Normandy - so this sort of thing will not happen again, making these bottles extremely rare!"
About the Label
"Our label, designed in-house, designer Toby Dowling has a number of stories tied up in it, as you’d expect. The Lionheart is a reference to Coeur de Lion. The distillery has the trademark for spirits, but a little while back, that budget Camembert brand issued them a cease and desist so they don't use it any more. The route is the route the cask took, Ms Sherry Wood is obvious, and, the stamp shows the cows grazing beneath the high-trunk apple trees they have."

This Speyside Single Malt Scotch was re-racked into first-fill ex-Sherry casks. It was bottled at 10 years old and 56.9% ABV.
What is this? I high strength, 10-year-old single malt that is also heavily sherry influenced AND at a reasonable price? Has the world gone mad?!? Not quite, but the crafty crew at That Boutique-y Whisky Company might have. TBWC cannot say which Speyside distillery this whisky was sourced from, but they do use worm tubs. Hmm... that narrows down the possibilities a bit. Craigellachie or Mortlach are likely the two most famous Speyside distilleries to utilize worm tubs, but they are not alone. Glen Elgin, Cragganmore, Balmenach, Benrinnes, and Speyburn do as well. There might be a few others too.

"Depth Charge Spiced Rum packs a big, powerful flavour profile, having been made with a fantastic base of Caribbean rum, a selection of tasty spices and generous helpings of lime and mandarin at its core. The name comes from an ancient seafaring tale, where there was once a formidable sailor who encountered a fierce mythological sea monster, which defeated it comprehensively. But then, something appeared to challenge the sea monster - it was Depth Charge! Or at least, some version of that story. You can see what they did there. Anyway, expect this expression to be great served simply over ice with a good wedge of lime, and it should pair brilliantly with all those classic rum mixers we know and love"
