Old Pulteney 15 Year
$113.99
This bottle was featured on Day 21 of our 2023 KWM Whisky Calendar. You can read the post on it here.
Part of the new Old Pulteney range released late in 2018, the 15-year-old is matured in both Ex-Bourbon & Ex-Sherry and is bottled at 46%.
Producer Description
"Matured for 15 years, this is our most balanced and smooth single malt. Balancing two different sides of the flavour spectrum, this single malt marries these perfectly, whilst also reflecting our coastal home and its unwavering influence.
On one hand, this is an intense single malt, yet at the same time, it is truly balanced.
Spice and sweetness unite in this naturally rich amber whisky to celebrate rich flavours, yet lighter, more refreshing coastal notes show another side of this single malt."
Old Pulteney 18 Year
$159.99
The new 18 Year replaces the now-discontinued 21 Year. Matured in a mix of Ex-Bourbon and Ex-Sherry, the whisky is bottled at 46%.
Producer Description
"Matured for 18 years, this is indulgent and spicy thanks to the casks selected for maturation. Taking its character and colour entirely from the casks within which it has been nurtured, this is a deeply warming whisky. The indulgence extends through this single malt with chocolate and spice defining the character but allowing for the influence of more vibrant zesty flavours."

Decadent Drams Blended Scotch 12 Year
$219.99
Acurious creation from Angus and the team at Decadent Drinks, the blend might be 12 years of age, but there are components which go back to the early 1970s. 53% 87.58pts Whiskybase
Producer Description
"We don’t usually dabble in blends. Angus will happily remind anyone that he’s an “out and proud malt snob” nine days out of ten. But every now and then, fate drops something into your lap that’s too good to ignore. In this case, it was a tiny parcel of very old, very low-strength North of Scotland grain whisky from 1973. The kind of spirit that practically begs to be given a stage rather than left gathering dust. We married it with sherry-matured blended malt, then folded in a few venerable Speyside malts (peated and unpeated) before giving the whole lot over a year’s rest in a refill sherry hogshead. The result was bottled at a judicious 53%, a few degrees down for balance and drinkability. For the label, there was only one choice: Charlie MacLean. The original champion of blended Scotch, whisky legend, friend, and inspiration. If anyone deserves to front our first foray into blends, it’s him. This isn’t just a blend, it’s a love letter to the category from a bunch of supposed malt snobs. And if you’re going to break your own rules, you might as well do it properly."
