Sparkling wine from a small producer in Slovenia — a beauty for the wine geek to taste! "A medium orange to red color. Red fruits on the nose, well matured, tertiary, yet still plenty of freshness. Dry, very homogeneous on the palate...gentle herbal notes present. A very complex, long-lasting, excellent sparkling wine," according to the winemaker.
*Please note that this bottle is meant to be stored upside down (like in the picture). The bottle still contains yeast that is meant to be disgorged upon opening. Storing the bottle upside down allows this yeast sediment to fall in to the bottleneck against the cap and be disgorged first as it is pushed out when the cap is removed.*

Situated in Mazan, (Vaucluse county,) the Château la Croix des Pins boast a micro-climate due to its ideal location between the Mont Ventoux and Les Dentelles de Montmirail in an area classified as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. It's a blend of Grenache 55%, Syrah 35% and Mourvèdre. It's a spicy, zesty affair with subtle black and red fruit notes and hints of garrigues. This wine is made for barbecue season. Excellent value!
