Tantalus Old Vines Riesling
$77.99
Tantalus was established in 2004 when Proprietor Eric Savics was presented with the opportunity to acquire one of the Okanagan Valley’s premier vineyard properties. Originally known as Pioneer Vineyards, the site was first planted to table grapes in 1927 by renowned, local horticulturist JW Hughes. The old vine plantings – 1978 Riesling and 1985 Pinot Noir and Chardonnay became the backbone of the vineyard. Other varietals were removed and new plantings of the 3 flagship varietals commenced in 2005. The vineyard would not only have considerable vine age as its anchor, but it would also grow to have superior clone variation as well. With the success of the wines and the increase in production came the need to build a new winery. Tantalus’ sleek new facility was completed in March 2010 and has the distinction of being British Columbia’s first LEED-certified winery. This wine has been awarded best overall BC wine in previous competitions. The vines are generally regarded as the oldest vinifera plantings in the Okanagan.
Dubois Cocottes Fleurie
$47.99
A Classic Beaujolais for Autumn!
Anne-Sophie Dubois is a young dynamic winemaker situated in the cru of Fleurie, Beaujolais. Her family moved from Champagne, where they were previously winemakers, to Beaujolais in 1992 and purchased a Domain. At 23 years old, Anne Sophie took over the Domaine in 2006. Since then, she has converted all her vineyards to organic and is currently 2 years away from getting her vineyards certified organic. In the cellar, she works with a minimal intervention approach. She uses a gravity-fed system with no chemicals other than a small addition of sulphur before bottling. She ages all of her wine in oak, stating:
“I am very attached to the ageing of my wines in barrel, but not to bring a woody taste. I love this material. The wood is natural, the wine breathes through it, it comes out clear and open.”
She also happens to be an artist, the beautiful labels are hers as well.

With some of the country’s oldest vinifera plantings at the backbone of their home estate, Tantalus has carved out a reputation as a top riesling, syrah, chardonnay, and pinot noir producer both in Canada, and abroad. In the glass, it offers a lifted aromatic profile of rose petal, violets, and sweet thyme—evoking a summer garden in full bloom. Hints of wild herbs, subtle citrus oil, and pomegranate add complexity and freshness. The palate is taut and quietly powerful, with notes of young blackberry, baking spice, and blood orange. There’s a brooding quality to this vintage—structure over plushness—with fine-grained tannins and a gently persistent finish.
