Quinta do Noval Vintage Port is characterised by its purity of fruit and a fine and delicate quality that is typical of the wines of the property but which finds its most remarkable and enduring expression in this wine. The 2008 exhibits a deep, ink-like colour with an intense bouquet of wild flower and dark fruit. This Vintage port is rich and potent, elegant and suave with multiple layers of concentrated aromas of fruit, firm, succulent tannins and a very long finish.

Periquita (in English, the "little parrot") is Portugal's oldest table wine, according to the winemaker. Now that's staying power! It's a great little friend, too, for any informal gathering. This is a real find: simple, fruity and well-balanced with flavours of blueberries and strawberries. The Periquita is typically made using the Castelão, Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca grapes.

Carm is part of the Roboredo Madeira winery group, (as are our Vinha da Urze wines), a company that has been producing wine and olive oil since the 17th century. The wine is vinified in Carm's Winery at Quinta das Marvalhas in Almendra, in the heart of Douro Superior. It's a blend of Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional, the trio of red grapes that form the backbone of many Port wines. It's aged in both French and American oak barrels for eight months prior to bottling. Look for expressions of blackberries, mulberry, and black cherry followed by the seductive flavours of black figs and licorice. There's a hint of toasted oak on the palate.
