Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Dolcetto are blended together to create a bright yet full-bodied wine that is perfect for everyday occasions. Each variety is individually fermented on the skins for 5 days before it is pressed to enhance the aromatics while softening the naturally present tannins. Maturation in 2–3-year-old oak barrels rounds out the rich and savoury character of the Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. Dolcetto and a splash of Lagrein add spiciness and vibrant tannins that complete the wine. Perfect for your Sunday night roast dinners, grilled dishes, cured meats, and aged cheeses.

94 POINTS - Ripe cabernet aromas from the outset. A full-bodied and chocolate-rich palate, fleshy and grapey as well. There's a blueberry and licorice pop to the mid-palate as the wine opens with a little time in a decanter. Will gather more interest in its expression over the next 5 years.

Angove has a hit with this blend of shiraz, mourvedre and grenache that tastes decidedly Rhone -like, with aromas of ripe raspberry, dark cherry and spiced plum are layered with hints of black pepper, dried herbs and a subtle earthy complexity. A blend of Negroamaro (80%) and Malvasia Nera, picked from vines 15 to 20 years old. The wine spends between four and six months maturing in French oak prior to bottling. Close to ten years on since the grapes were picked, the wine is currently showing wonderful lavender, cherry and raspberry notes along with integrated acidity and minerality. Getting a decade-old wine that drinks this well at this price is impressive and as such it remains one of the great bargains in Italy's vast wine realm. It would pair nicely with lasagna or roast chicken.

Cantina Cosimo Taurino was founded in 1970 by the legendary Apulian producer, Cosimo Taurino. He was a pioneer of Negroamaro, and of the Apulian wine industry, changing its reputation of the 'not so great southern region that only produces bulk grapes for the north' to a region known for its high-quality red and rosé wines. Ever since the winery first opened, they have continued to grow and produce some of the best wines Puglia has to offer.

The Heartland story began in the late 1990’s when winemaker Ben Glaetzer (of Amon Ra fame) became excited about the outstanding quality of fruit being grown in some of South Australia’s lesser-known regions, in particular Langhorne Creek. Together with industry veterans Scott Collett, Grant Tilbrook and more recently, Nick Keukenmeester, they grew Heartland into an award-winning winery. It offers blackcurrant and berry fruits wrapped in a neat parcel of dried herbs, and a hint of eucalyptus. A touch firmish in the mouth, but the finish is long and seemingly endless.
