Hansel South Slope Pinot Noir
$68.99
The South and North Slope vineyards of Hansel lie in the Russian River Valley. The two vineyards face each other, side by side, but show very different characteristics despite their proximity. Here is what Stephen Hansel has to say about the South Slope and the French Clone 777 Pinot Noir planted there: "The South Slope begins at the highest elevation and the furthest South of all of our Vineyards blocks. It slopes from South to North about 45 feet and it's soils are predominantly sandy loam. The berry size is medium with a high berry count giving cluster weight that has yields approaching 2 1/4 tons/acre (our highest yields). It is 100% French clone 777, and tends to show it's earthy side far more then our other clones. Although this wine definitely has a French origin, each year it becomes more and more new world."

Tedeshi Amarone
$79.99
Tedeschi boasts a deep bond with the Valpolicella region that has kept it on the path of quality and tradition produced exclusively from grapes grown on hillsides. Since 1630, their family has believed in the extraordinary potential of local wine production, enhancing its value in a modern key with innovative production and environmental management methods with the end result of creating wines that are able to evoke emotion and render homage to the magnificent land Amarone is a style of red wine made in the Veneto region of Northern Italy and is one of Italy's most famous wines. Grapes are harvested by hand at the end of September, beginning of October, and are placed on plastic trays for drying. This process lasts until January and renders the once plump juicy grape to a raisin. The result is a wine of great flavour and style. This is a great wine at a great price; it has notes of vanilla and ethereal aromas of sweet currants, blueberries and cherries. Enjoy with braised red meats and cheese and a hearty peasant-style loaf of bread. A Kensington Wine Market exclusive!
Bussola Ca`Del Laito Ripasso
$71.99
Another great creation from Tommaso Bussola. This wine is composed of 40% Corvinone (ancient Corvina clone), 40% Rondinella, 15% Molinara and small quantities of other indigenous varietals and is aged for 17 months in oak. Pairings include a meaty lasagna or parmigiano as suggestions.
This is a "ripasso" style Valpolicella that uses the "lees" of Bussola's Recioto instead of the traditional Amarone "lees". This technique gives a richly seductive wine, with terrific concentration and voluptuous texture!

Montes Carmenere Purple Angel
$134.99
One of Chile's top wines, and certainly, one of the best examples of Carménère on the market. (Some might even say it IS the best.) Carménère is an amazing grape that absolutely thrives in Chile. Originally from France but almost forgotten on its home turf, Carménère has been reinvented in Chile. This big boastful red starts out with aromas of sage, blueberry, and blackberry and toasty oak. According to Robert Parker, it borders on opulent. A full-throttle red, layered with succulent flavours, and a long, pure finish. A Purple Angel indeed!
