Bottled after 10 years at 48.5%, this 2012 vintage Mortlach initially matured in Refill Hogshead, before finishing in a First Fill Sherry Butt.

"To close out our 2022 series of Equinox & Solstice we've selected this gorgeous, velvety and rich 10 year old Mortlach. It was distilled in 2012, matured initially in refill hogsheads and then double matured in a 1st fill sherry butt for over two years. As always with this series, we've bottled it at our favourite dramming strength of 48.5%. For most of us, when we think of whisky and winter, our minds go to dark and delectably sherried whiskies. That's exactly what we've tried to deliver with this year's Equinox & Solstice winter edition. It's a beautifully deep, rich, silky and satisfyingly thick sherry bomb. Full of that typical Mortlach meat and sinew, but capped with some wonderful and classic sherry flavours of walnut oil, dark chocolate, freshly roasted coffee and fruit scented pipe tobaccos. A modern sherry profile that is robust, clean, rich and hugely satisfying for sipping by the fire with words, music, company - or all three."

Filled into a Refill American Oak Hogshead cask on February 8, 1978 (a mere 13 days after our owner Andrew entered this world), this Mortlach was bottled on the 3rd of December 2021, at 47.4%. 42 years of age, it is rocking 92pts on Whiskybase.

This 16 year old Mortlach was inspired by the distillery's long lost, but beloved, "Flora & Fauna" bottling from the 90's & 2000s. Part of the newly revamped Mortlach range released in 2018 after the disasterous prior range. Matured exclusively in ex-sherry and bottled at 43.4%.
