"Our label references the greenhouses once warmed by waste heat from the distillery's stills way back in 1977. It also features Cocktail wizard Ryan Chetiyawardana who has time-travelled his way there to pick up some tomatoes... We’ve no idea why… There’s also a reference to Bowmore’s swimming pool heating."

Nose: Subtle wood burner smoke, cream soda and a hint of orange zest.
Taste: Smooth rich mouthfill with syrupy pears, vanilla and an earthiness that develops over
time.
Finish: Fruity liquorice sweets and more of those fruity pear flavours. There’s a lingering dryness too where more of the earthiness comes through.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company (TBWC) is part of the Atom Group, which also owns the UK retailer Master of Malt and a number of other subsidiaries. They are a dynamic and innovative firm, who by example invented the Whisky Advent Calendar concept. Established in 2012, TBWC is famous for its playful and colourful labels, which often feature prominent whisky industry figures, tell a story, and or elude to an inside joke. The labels are typically laced with hidden elements and "Easter Eggs."
TBWC bottles whiskies from around the world, though the bulk of their offerings are of Scottish origin. Most of their offerings are small-batch releases, Blended Malts, and Blends. Their "Head of Whisky" is Canadian Sam Simmons.

Much like Ardbeg before them, Glen Garioch is telling the tale of their rebirth (Renaissance, if you will) through a four part series that showcases the distillery's coming of age after it found life again as part of Beam Suntory's portfolio back in 1997.
This 18-year-old - the culmination of the 'story' that began with 15, 16, and 17-year-old expressions - was built upon a marriage of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks and is meant to exemplify the distillery's new(ish) house style. All we can say is...well done, folks.
