Amrut distillery is located in Bangalore India. They use a mix of Scottish and Indian barley, the later sourced from farmland in the north of India which borders the Hymalayas. The name "Amrut" comes from Indian mythology and means "Nectar of Life" in Sanskrit. Amrut whiskies are bottled young because in the harsh Indian climate they mature quickly loosing between 10 and 15% volume per year.
